Thanks ! It was a lot of fun building it, too ! It tops out at 140mw, and takes 3 AAA batts. The top is removable - I fudged JUST a tiny bit - I do not have the epoxy in it yet...I wanted to hurry and get pics up fast ! But the epoxy will go on tonight, dry up and be ready for more action tomorrow !

I had to widen the reflector a tad bit, in order to fit the optics housing through it. THe HARDEST part of this mod was to get the darned thing apart ! In one of the pics, you see some silvery part on the case - that is where the vise grips bit through the rubber sheet I was using to pad them. I attatched a 1uf Tantalum capacitor. The cap catches any voltage "spikes" when you turn it on and off. This was a fairly simple mod, and I look forward to making a few more of these ! I am also on the lookout for a nicer looking host, and I am 50% done with another Dorcy mod - this one uses 1 AAA battery, and the untouched boost circuit. Pics later of that one - IF I get it working !

What are the dimensions of that when its done?...is it small enough to fit in your pocket as a keychain laser or still too big?
I've always thought lasers would be an "excellent" defensive weapon against getting mugged or whatever.... yea yea.. you may burn one or both of their eyeballs out permantly... at least thats better than shooting them dead!.....
Except for the part where the poor babies try to sue you later..... yea.. second thought....better just shoot them dead!

dats crazy. i wanna make my own man. can you give me step by step intructions? what are all the stuff u need. do you just hook up the diode to the flashlight or do you need lens or something. can you use a regular cheap keychain laserpointer for the lens?
