I think that switch wont be what you want. It's a on-off-on which is a center off 3 position switch.
I think you want PN# DPDT11

DPDT 11 is an on-on switch, dont I want something that will turn my thing on and off???

You only connect to one side of it, so that when the "other side" is on, nothing is connected to it and it does nothing.

I don't think that DPM will work.. It's an LED DPM which means it will draw more current from the battery and it appears to require a separate 5 volt regulated power supply.
Your order looks okay 'cept for the switch.
A 1N914 is exactly the same as a 1N4148. That's why it's pretty commonly referred to as a 1N914/1N4148. Either will work.

I ended up competing with "TheMonk" (I recognized his ebay account) for this DPM:

I also contacted thier sales and got a different switch, the one you recommended. I also ordered thier 1N914's, which I did find to be the same as thier 1N4148's from thier datasheet.
thanks for the help, all I need now is the Thermopile, LED, Knob, and enclosure! thanks for helping me make this project a go!

all the parts (excluding enclosure, thermopile, DMP, LED, and PCB) came out to around 10 bucks shipped from futurlec, I dont see why people would buy from radio shack...

I've got nothing against mail order but I like being able to get that part I need at a moment's notice...

you do got a point there, I still go there for electrical "stuff", jsut the DIY parts seem overpriced there. I will stil get my enclosure and LED's from them for this project for sure.

The PCBs for the second group buy just arrived (7:30pm) from UPS. I'll get them all mailed out tomorrow.

I don't know about linearity but if you calibrate against known lasers or compare with a proper powermeter it would propably let you know pretty well what power a laser has.
