is the Potentiometer sopost to change my voltage?
i hooked up 4 AA batterys and thats giving 6.5 volts at the end where the laser will soon go its at 5.5 volts..  i must be shorting sumthing that seems high

have you put a load where the LD is going to be?
If you have built the DDL circuit the pot changes the current.....

the pot was not changeing the curent that just cunfused me.
i realised that i miss read the pins on the LM317 go
(correct me if im wrong)

that should fix the voltage problem and have the pot start working

yea i have a v and i meter i am suppling the circuit with 6v as in the schematic ill try the 1 ohm should i connect the 1 ohm straight to the LD thanks ;D

I found that same pic online but on his schematic on the first page of this forum he lables

1-in
2-adj
3-out

as oppose to the pic up there^

The schematic showed the chip and the connections. The breadboard pic showed the pins ;) Not to mention the back of the RS package shows that too :p

dam now i have to un-do my re-do....
radio shack didnt have it labled on the back of there packaging thats what confused me :p

Knasterpijp which MXDL are you using? the 3xAA or the 1xCR123 one? i'm still trying to figure out which host light I wanna use.

O.K. I'm jumping in on this, and I have a few questions before I order the needed Components.
Take a look at the list of components in the pic.

  • Is there anything incorrect?
  • is there anything you would change?
  • If so Why?
