I'm in need of a dummy since I need to do some testing. If I was going to build a dummy without SMD-parts, what would be needed? Sorry I can't explain more, but I'm in a hurry.

anything that has the same or greater forward voltage as the laser, and roughly the same resistance.

I've been using 4 zener diodes in series.. other people use two LED's in series.

took me a minute to find a schematic, but here...

the entire left side of the diagram is what people usually use as a dummy load. the 1ohm resistor is just a convenient way of measuring current using a voltmeter.

That picture doesn't show up for me, and there seems to be something wrong with photobucket :(

So four diodes or two LED's in series should be fine?

EDIT: Nvm, found it in another thread (second post) :D
