That looks awesome when it spinning fast, although I cant see how it would work with lasers... To get the same kind of effect your going to need rather high powered lasers in a smoky room.

As for your little 30+10... I will not sell my scanner kit for £30, it's £50 or nothing mate haha.

I don't see why it wouldn't work you'd have a 360 degree laser light show. Better keep it high up though so as not to get it in your eyes. it would be very expensive to build though because of all the LD's and I would need to beef up the power supply. And of course balance all those spinning diodes.

much easier with a spinning mirror I think.

Remember the LEDs are just one point of light.

If you change each LED for a red diode you will not only have a red glow inside the middle bit but red beams and dot on the walls. It will give a different effect to what you see in the video.

I've always like those kind of POV displays, I think something like that but with RGB leds would be insane

That's another LPF Project. When I have my own house I will install scanners EVERYWHERE.
