Default DESIGN - Custom Host for an O-Like module

Ok, I've been thinking about this for some time and I decided I wanted a custom host for a 80-100mW o-like.com module, since I've never designed an aluminum barrel I'm posting my idea so anybody can share opinions. Maybe a member can do it (maybe mass produce it :P (just for members)) or come up with a better design.

The idea is to create a simple barrel which can be taken anywhere (pockets) without having to worry if dust is coming into the lens and at the same time providing a cool unique host.

This is the basic design, I've come up with a focusable design too but it'd take a modified endcap which would require more aluminum, and I'm thinking about a cheap but reliable and simple design here.

The parts can be labeled as (in order of appearance (left to right)) Tailcap / Barrel / Endcap / Dustcap

Hope you can participate in this project and let me know if you like the design (and if you would want one too).
Note that I'm looking for somebody to machine it for me, I don't have a lathe nor know how to use one

you may want to add a setscrew to hold the module in place . you could do tail clickie or side button ? take out the endcap to make it cheaper to make and just push the dust cap over the front

A setscrew could be a good idea, especially if it is to fit modules from serveral manufacturers, or even cope with production tolerances from a single one over time.

As for the design: There is little to like or dislike in the drawing - it seems like the logical way to assemble something like this. One point of interest could be that the battery could easily be installed in reverse as it is drawn, and would make electrical contact.

Perhaps some design with a recessed positive contact would be superior, though that would require spacers (the little magnets are great!) if someone must use nipple-less batteries.

If I added a setscrew to hold the module in place it would be a great way to eliminate the endcap, but wouldn't that make it harder to machine?
The clicky button would be the best as it is designed to be carried in a pocket without a carrying case (so it doesn't get pressed accidentally).

You may or may not have already seen this, but here it is:

http://www.jasperlaser.com/index.php?/shop/details/29

It should fit any module that is about 12.5mm in diameter and it's only $9.

I don't know if it will fit an o-like module, also I don't know about the quality of that host and I won't be able to power it with a 18650.

Shipping to argentina would be around 20 bucks, plus customs tax (because they tax everything that comes from the US) it would result in around 45 dollars

A setscrew would be easier to machine than your current design. *The inner shoulder (the constricted part of the tube) would require that you drill out solid rod would would be expensive and very time consuming. *If the tubing is completely open inside you can use a standard size extruded tube.

I personally go for press fits myself since I don't like a set screw visible from the outside but depending on the materials that may not be possible.

I would also suggest just having the front piece screw straight to the tube, the less pieces to machine the easier and as pictured you would probbably have to thread both sides of that very small spacer-ish thing which would be very troublesome. In general, the fewer pieces you need the easier it will be to make.

You can see something similar that I made for aixiz modules:

Thank you guys so much for the help, I will reconsider based on what you told me and will modify the design and post the improved version.

Any help is still appreciated of course!
