db25 controlled driver

I have a cnc machine and after looking at the board i have found 10 un used pins. I have a 7 color kit and 3 normal drivers.
So now for the questions.
Making a stepper beam show.
How would i go about using them for computer control?
Can 2 programs use the same db25 port as longs as they don't use the same pins?
I am thinking i need something like a TTL driver but i have no idea maybe analog?
I do have a programmable ic it is the basic stamp 2. (i would like to stay away from this as i have no idea how it works.)
I would like at least 7 colors but it would be nice if i could get the fading thing.
I have seen the kits for them and at a price of 60+ i just cant clear it. i know i can build anything i just need to know what to build.
(i can afford this after Christmas but i want all my laser shows done before then.)
So even if its sloppy it would be nice to have something that works.
I am very newbie when it comes to electronics so please if there are diagrams can you link me to a place where i can find a key Or pictures of what they actually are. I know this can be asking alot i am trying to learn.

What You want to do is a bit more complicated than you may imagine if
you don't at least have some Basic Electronics and Programming knowledge..

Perhaps have someone built it for you...
And if some kits are available to do what you want at $60.00...
I would jump at that... That's seems like a bargain...

I know enough to be stupid lets just say that. I can program in C++ and in VB and lastly and i have some knowledge of programing ic's but not enough to be confident.
as far as electronic i can solder and do calculations but i just don't know all the components or the ics needed once given a list i can do in depth research of each part and figure it our from there.
And pictures drawn in paint are always welcome.

Any one got ideas i how to make a analog driver controlled via db25 or db 9 ports on cpu?my comp has 3 port 2 db9s and 1 db 25 the 25 is in use by the cnc machine but the others are open? i am up for any ideas.
