Here is my custom lens holder I made out of an old mag light..... All you have to do is bore out the threads with some type of drill.... i used a high-speed with a sanding wheel. It is advised that you bore it out further then what you need so you can use a piece of tape to keep it from scratching your nice 1500$ rpl : )

then for the lens part get you a washer and some silicone and attach the washer to the lip that is in the mag head and when that is dry just get you some sticky tack to stick the lens to it : ) and bam you have a lens holder for the rpl

Thing weighs about 1/2 as much as the RPL though so with proper machine this could be one heck of a heat sync :p

Is it really that heavy?

You should paint it black like the RPL, it'll look nicer :) What kind of lens are you using in it?
