hey guys im new to all this and new to the forum this is my fist proper project so im a little unsure of whats what and how LoL :)

So this is the plan I have X3 RGV show scanners and I want to try to fit a 445nm casio diode in-to 1 of them to see if my plan works?

what I want to do is simply replace the existing 405nm diode with the 445nm because I have heard that it should just run off of the 405nm diode driver is this true?

I will also put together a picture diary as soon as work starts :)

it might but i doubt it.
these diodes need more power than the 405nm ones.
So they might be able to fit in place but you might have to build your own driver.
You will need to take a meter to the output and post how much in terms of mw they are giving
Remember these 445nm ones need at least 200mw to turn on.
i suggest you post your location.
This might be a project where you want a member to come and assist you.
You dont want to brick a projector.

He is in the UK-

lots of scanner heads over there-- sign up to PL- but stay away from talking very much about handhelds or LPF -- those( TO A FEW) are dirty words over there.

Hey Innes151,

I just posted in your Welcome thread. PM me if you like. There's a few things to think about here...
