Default CNI 100mw laser and external power.

hi!

I have a PGL-III-A-532/5~130mW (running at 100mw)

i want some more power out of it, the first thing i did was to take it apart and twist the potmeter in the buttom of the "laser Casehouse" the amp meter did go from 275mA to 320mA so i guess it have more power now not shure how mutch.

next thing i have tried is to connect the battery poles to a AC/DC adapter 3 volt/1500mA * the beam was insane and the ampmeter shows up 1,1 amps! the laser casing is holding about 38-40 Celsius after 30 sek of power. *measured: 3.12V*1.1A= 3.432 Watt!!!!! *is this safe? how long wil the diode hold? :P

Anyone that have tried this? *

Not for long. You must use a regulated power supply! That AC/DC adapter may put out as much as 5 or even 9V!

But 3V is 3V. If the current was 320mA on 3V batteries, then the current should be the same IF you use a 3V adapter. Since it's 1,1A at "3V" it's clearly not regulated.

I suspect 500mA but don't take my word for it. You don't need to make a regulator, find a reliable 3V psu and the regulator inside the laser will take care of the rest. Give it 3.0V, no more.

yeah dont worry about the current going in, just make sure it's 3v. The batteries probably have like 3-4A (or more if it is lithium) of available current but the driver in the laser should limit that, you just make sure that the 3v is actually 3v

You forgot you had caps lock on, and try adding some punctuation and proper grammar.
