Cheapy Ebay green laser mod

I've been browsing on ebay and I'm going to buy this (I know it crap, but it's only £6), and on youtube it shows that they are a scam, and really arent worth the money, like say if you bought a 100mw 532nm laser most of that would be IR light and not 532nm, and other sorts of scams, but it shows how to mod (not a potentiometer mod) a green laser into a IR laser, will it actually work?

The tut on youtube seems to work anyway, Even if I break it, ohh well.

i cant believe i never thought of it i wonder if it will work easily
