Default Cheapest waterproof torch for laser modding

Ok I have started another thread about he module now about the torch casing

My little sisters birthday (she will be 6) is coming up and I want to make her a waterproof torch green laser!

I have picked a suitable module (IR filtered ~2-3mW) and now I need the cheapest waterproof housing I can find... I really am looking for cheap- if I can DIY waterproof it then so be it but as cheap as possible.
Any suggestions? It preferably needs enough room for the module as well as the batteries...

the module runs off 3-5V and this is it:

I was about to post that but you beat me to it. ;D There really is no way of knowing if it will fit in there or not, if your going to buy the host off the internet then you need to get the dimensions of the green module, the dimensions of the host and at least a picture of it with the batteries next to it to get an idea of how much room will be left for the module.

which one were you going to post lol ? :P

Im more tempted by the bike one but there are 2 of the other one

its a DX module and there are no dimensions that are coherent with the pictures lol

if the worse came to the worst coudl I put a cr123a battery into the housing as its a lot shorter... then I might get more room?

Do you know if the dx module has a movable driver or is it fixed in place? and do you know dimensions?

cheers

I was going to post both of them *
You could deffinetely get more room if you used a CR123 battery. As for the module I have no idea, but I don't think you can remove the driver. Judging by the pics I think if you use a CR123 battery in one of the flashlights from either link I'm guessing you could fit the module in there and just have it stick out a little bit, but I'm not sure. :-/ I suggest you get the module first to see its exact size and then get the host you think it might fit into.

Well, like I said I'm not sure if it will stick out or not, but if it does, use you creativity, i.e. you could get some kind of plastic bubble, cut it in half and glue it to the front of the flashlight where the module sticks out. There are many ways to accomplish this, just use you head. ;D

Anyway, good luck with your project and I hope you can finish it before her birthday.

Is it going to be waterproof though when you install the diode? I reckon, smother the inside in silicone or something else so that water cant get on any of the vital parts, although i don't think getting water on the parts inside will damage anything unless you get water into the diode.

I'm going to test this out. I'm going to soak my running driver in water and run it to see if the output changes. What i reckon is make sure that the diode hasn't got any points where water can come into. That would be your main concern.
