you can get aixiz module from www.hightechdealz.com it's a good company. the module comes with the lens. then you press your diode into that. and instatll the aixiz with your pressed in LD into a hose. btw...... good job

That drawing looks like a flash lamp with trigger coil. This might be used in HID lighting if the anode current is controled after the spark ignition. Depending on the gas composition, the tube conductivity can drop to under a half OHM.

This is what you are talking about, I believe. They can be done as a DIY project, but they take some serious work. Someone made one recently, but I can't remember who.
