I am going to use a 16340 in an MXDL for my BR.  I found a bolt to use as a spacer.  ;)  I hope to have it completed this evening.  :D

Interesting... Oh I see, a boost circuit driver! Since I have a couple of barrels on the way, and 4 lavadirives, I'm going to order a couple of 17670 batteries. I just tried an 18650 in my 1st run barrel, and it doesn't fit. It should be perfect for a 17670, as well as the MXDL!

Because of the lavadrives, I think that this battery is going to be a hit with these two hosts. (The MXDL and the Kenom barrel) The 17670 would also be a good chioce for my cree mod, using an AMC7135/1050mA driver! ;)

I will probably go with the addition of the 1n4001 in my first one. The only diodes I have are 20x and the only drivers I have here is this flexdrive and some from rkcstr at 300ma. I'm planning on using the rkcstr ones with Senkat diodes. I don't have any of the 405nm diodes here yet.

Peace,
dave

Just go with a series diode or two - it's a very proven method to lose a little excess voltage in electronics engineering. If your driver is a linear current source, it will not affect performance (e.g. battery life) in any way.

Yea. I picked up some diodes while I was out getting fence post concrete. It will still probably be Tuesday now before I can dedicate enough time to build it. (wife home for the weekend, fence to move, rough drafts from students to critique, barges to tote, bale to lift, etc.)

Peace,

The 17670's fit perfectly into it, i tried some in my mxdl and they work great.

That's good to hear. I've got some on the way. I'll stop obsessing over the decision now. Thanks

Peace,
dave
