Great! I can't wait to see a working version of this. Should be a very bright beam even if it is blue. :yh:

I think there might be three of us wanting one of these now, the more the better :)

Haa, that's was my count also. I agree, the more the merrier! Can't wait till, it's going to be awesome!!!!

Just imagine 18-20 watts of blue, can only dream !! :)

Is he done yet? :D

Edit; how about now? :)

Can a single FlexP3 drive 2 pcs m44?

can two pair 44s ( cubed) and then cubed again ( 3 of Dave's blue cubes tested for 30W) and 4 diodes. its what I have to work with ATM.. I have lab hosts w/ fans AixiZ Gs -NOT a portable.. btw

Well....It has been awhile since I have given this project additional attention !!! Time to blow the dust off !!!
Hmmmm….It is not like I do NOT have enough other projects I am working on !!!
I have the special Dichro….just not experimented yet....TOOOOooo many other distractions !!!
Anyway.....So as to get outa the SG thread !!!!ANYONE experiment with adding a Colli lense to achieve infinity focus to a currently available N465 Ball LD ?????

Thanx. CDBEAM

I remember something about putting another ball next to the one in NUBM07 (to do the opposite to what the 1st ball does and return to "raw output" again after convergence point) and then install a normal G-2 colli after it.

Also any kind of bad G-ball collimation can be repaired by a beam expander - but this means to somehow install 2 lenses after the NUBM07. Even if expansion ratio will be 1 (Keplerian telescope), the beam can be perfectly collimated to infinity by regulating lens separation.

Thanx SG !!!!!

Hmmmm….Well.....since NO N465 are available.....and who knows when they might....Looks like I will have to modify the " Blue Katar " design !!
What's a few more lenses....as this build is already a " Optics Feast " !!!! Hahahhaha
I will look the design over to see where to stuff two (2) Keplerian set's !!! Thanx again. !!

Hi Bob,
Here are the pictures of my old experiments how to improve collimation after G-balls with Sanwu BE:

By the way I still keep 2 NUBM44-v2 and 2 of last DTRs N465 in 12mm DTR modules waiting for a similar build.
I do not get why people say V2 is stronger than V1 - checking output I get very similar numbers.

Also I checked all of these LDs in the position 1 of this old build (pic. with numbers in post 3 of that thread) to get an idea about output AFTER all trail incl. Blue-blue dichro:

It was 6.3 and 6.4W for NUBM44s at 4.5A and 4.5 and 3.8W for N465s at 4.0A what DTR I think recommended not to exceed...

So all combined might make 21W if we manage to keep incidence angle exactly 45º (this Dichro`s reflexion is very sensitive to this angle!)
