Best way to combine Beams for Power?

With knife edging, the idea is that if you place two beams next to each other where their energy near the edges is trailing off, it can look like a single beam, especially if you focus the beam down to a smallish dot.

I think the optimal cross-over point is where the power is at 1/e^2.

Opps, my mistake...it must be my vision in these old eyes or the fact I left out my contacts.
I thought you meant "best way to combine beans for power"
I was going to say a large helping of pinto beans combined with a few hard boiled eggs would give lots power;)

Have you considered using a prism to redirect your laser beams?
