I have started ordering all the supplies I need for making my first DIY red burner. I would like some directions or something that would tell me how to assemble it. I have somewhat of an idea on how to assemble it but it's my first DIY and I would rather play it safe than mess it up. The parts I will have are as follows:

MXDL host from DX

16x DVD burner diode pre-assembled in an Axiz module from Stonetek

Heatsink from jayrob

350mA driver from rkcstr

Again, any kind of instructions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I almost forgot, I have one more question, How much mW do you think this laser will put out (I'll have to go out and buy a power meter soon).

Thanks :)

You'll need some batteries too for the MXDL.

and as for putting the diode on the driver, [link=http://rkcstr.googlepages.com/home ]rkcstr has ton's of documentation on his site[/link] which should help out. you'll need a soldering iron to attached the diode on. the finer tip soldering irons work better for SMD components such as that driver.

and you can check out [link=http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1206910274]this graph[/link] and look at 350mA to see about what power you will get, looks like 200-225mW of red :)

good luck

EDIT: you should have posted this in your other thread (threads, I just saw that you have at least 3 threads all related to this same topic) that you made about this same topic.... but whatever
