i want to try one of the Blue Phlat lights (i keep on reading them as FAT LIGHTS lol) to see if it will ursup the Blue laser in the projector and gimme a good image.

if anyone has a link to them please let me know k?

GITD (glow in the dark) material...

Blu-ray and 445 diodes make GITD material glow. So possibly that PT-54 blue emitter will also do the same... :cool:

iv jsut ordered my green LED iv already got the red and at some point i want the blue

is it any good as a white light torch or is it not worth it because of size and focusing of the led's ?

You mean to combine all three to get white?

I'm sure it can work, but it would not be practical in a hand held...

Too much current demand / heat / etc...

I have a 1000 lumen white torch here: :cool:

ah might have to treat myself to one at some point but iv still got my green build to fund as well as finishing off my laser

The voltage demand (per the data sheet) for the green PT-54 is 4.9 vs 2.6 for the red. (I measured 4.3 for the Green PT-54, and 2.2 for the red)

My battery current draw on this Green PT-54 build is 6.7 Amps vs 3.8 Amps for the Red PT-54. And of course that means it gets warmer too...

Received my green PT-54 today and its safe to say its bright and energy hungry 4.6v @ 8 amps :drool:

i had to double up my test leads as there rated for 3A

Also warn is an understatement i have the thing screwed to a CPU heatsink and the hole sink is warm to the touch after only a couple of minutes

found an easy way to solder to these contacts just now: i had real trouble soldering to the contacts : most probily because my soldering iron is only 18W (used them in school and like it as its small) not the 60w thats been said on here i managed to get the negative wire on ( F knows how its just stuck like superglue) but couldnt get the positive on to save its life so i thought to ignore the gold coating and put 2 divits with a 2.4mm drill bit into the positive terminal to get to the rich copper underneath , filled the divets with solder and tinned the wire and its all bonded perfectly first time

p.s. i need to fit a lens and iv got no clue how im going to do that somthing adjustable would be good maybe fit the lens in a bracket and use a screw to focus either way i have no lath and minimal tools


any ideas?

ah yes but im to poor to be ordering cool stuff like that im already saving for one of your 1000 lumen torches (with voltage monitor) :whistle:

sounds like someone needs a feedback sticky or maybe a website like DTR's page with all your laser and torches for sale and a feedback page .ect
