Sorry if this seems like a simpletons question.... But why would you need the module up on stilts like that? Wouldn't it be a much simpler design if the block was fastened down to the rail and only the mirrors have X-Y-Z alignment?

I mean, why add extra points of failure? Or am I missing something?

Also... I think I'm going to PM you about getting on board with this project. I have ~$400 worth of 445 diodes that need a home

the springs gives you up and down movement for over lapping /stacking the beams and some side to side to side movement. I have found it is way to hard with just moving the mirrors I was trying to make some thing that is easy to set up.

"Can't wait to see that beast up and running. I guess you can tell WickedLasers to suck it. Their Arctic is no longer the worlds most powerful handheld laser. "

WL is full of it--the arctic was never the most powerful laser in the world ..just at WL.

If this is a kit in the sense he sells everything to make a plug and play laser then he could very well hear from the FDA with a cease and desist order, at best or a fine at worst. The exception would be if the OP has met with the expected procedures for manufacturing of lasers. I hope the OP knows this.

You get the parts to make it. You can buy some or all ,you have to put it together .It would be a lab laser/module tell you put it in a host and that would make it a handheld. These kit are hard to make ,you need to know a lot about Knife edging.

You Accept this diode/module as a COMPONENT for integration in a system of YOUR OWN design and will be legally responsible from any and all LIABILITIES These Diodes and Modules are sold solely as a component for incorporation into the customer's end products. Therefore, this diode/module is exempt from compliance with the appropriaterequirements of FDA 21CFR, section 1040.10 and 1040.11 for complete products

Who has a hand held CO2 laser with back pack PS?
I've never seen that.

Since it's been a few days and you've not answered the question I take that as an tacit acknowledgement this is a kit. In other words you sell all parts to make a working laser ( complete laser product). Then I suggest you reread the guidelines for laser manufacturers.

This does not absolve you form those guidelines. I doubt you've done any of this.

On a personal note. I don't care what you sell, but I do want you to have your eyes wide open for the potential legal troubles you could cause yourself.
