4 D Mag Light as a Host

As a fairly new DIY laser builder I have built some of the laser pens from the 9 LED host bodies. What I am wondering if any one has ever tried to use a four D cell mag light as a host. I can think of two reason why not. One is the milliamp may be to much and reason two is that even if you can get the milliamp right you would end up with some thing like a 5 or more watt laser depending on the diode module used and drivers. I have found a few places that sell those kind of diode modules online but the module are like two grand of more! I am wondering if any of you more experienced builders think of this. Is this even possible?:drool:

The ability of a Maglite to accept a Huge heatsink makes it a perfect host for one of these POWER BUILDS!
