2 Tiny 445nm builds in very small 10440 & 14500 host "Mini & Mini-Me"

Hey All,

Mini & Mini-me 445nm Builds

Here are my latest 2 445nm builds. So these 2 host are suppose to be the "Smallest Hosts" for the type of battery they take in the "World". Who knows but they are Super Tiny. Especially the 10440 one. I order these in the intention to make a matching set of 3 of each host Which i will be doing with A 405nm 12x ,635nm and 445nm which i just did."Ive been really into matching sets lately".:p Ive never seen these hosts before so i bought them in the dark not knowing how small they really where. I was blown away in there size when they came in. I have been using them as flashlights for the past month and a half and even gave a set of each away to a friend.:) Even as flashlights these host where not meant to keep on for a long time. They get hot quick.

They are basically as thin as they can get before the metal is to thin where the walls would collapse. The hug the batter more or less. It was a challenge to build in these to say the least. But i love challenges and no host will get in my way to get a build in it.:gun:

Both the hosts are completely Stainless Steel. Even there clicky switch. If you dint know stainless steel hosts are my favorite.

With the 10440 host there was not alot of room if any room really so i made a Direct Press Fit Heatsink for it. the heat sink is ~2mm thick or thin i should say becuse its tiny. Iam actually going to redo it when i get new smaller Copper Stock in as i only hve 1" and thicker. So for right now i made it out of Aluminum. I first had this build running at 800mW on the money with a 405-G-1 lens. However withing 10 second you would have to shut it off. Not much fun So I turned the currant way down to 400mW with a G1 lens. Now there is a 30-45 seconds ON Time and 1 minute off or less since there is not much metal to cool off. It cools down pretty quick. I made a Custom Focus Adapter which i think looks great. Makes everything complete since a regular Aixiz Focusing ring is too large anyway.

The 10440 laser is so small that i keep it in my pocket now. I never ever use to carry a laser out. But the size of this host to get a better idea is as thick as a King size cigarette.

The 14500 i had a little more build room as its about the same size as a F23 host just a little wider but not much. "See picture bellow" I was able to make a nice Copper Heatsink and Matching Custom Focus Adapter s the 10440 one. However iam going to have to trim it down some s i made it about 1/2 a millimeter to large and you can feel the difference between the host and the focus adapter. I decided to make this one more of a Beast and it is 1.3W with a 405-G-1 lens.:D Duty cycle is the same as a the 10440 and the cool part is is i made it with modes.:) Custom boost drivers in both made by one of my friends that finally arrived to me and received them on Friday. "Thanks for the drivers buddy"

These are great little build. Great pocket lasers and just classy and sexy hosts. These have become my favorite new tiny lasers. There the smallest i think it can get other then have someone make you custom host even smaller. But even then its going to be tough to beat the size of these. It seems that they have made it as thin as possible and could be the shortest you can make the length as well. But never under estimate the great skills of Ehgemus or other host makers.:eg:

:thanks: For Looking.!!!

Keep on Lazing.....

Very nice Lazeerer!

I like the tiny builds as well, and end up carrying my F23 in my pocket a lot.

Thanks Guys. Yea these are pretty small.:) I like the focus adapters on them it makes it very easy to focus.:)

Great Job!!
I love the micro builds like yours.....I break out my 10440 build when I want to really impress someone with the 445nm diodes. A bit smaller than what people are used to seeing in a laser pointer and much much more impressive!

Nice builds!

Wow... these are great. I love small builds, and I absolutely love the stainless steel look.

The 14500 especially look good. Perfect compromise between power and size.

Yeah i like really small builds and large builds.:p Dont cre too much for nything in between. The first thing you will get out of someone that you show it too is "What is it"  Then you respond with you "idiot" its a laser.:D Duhhh.LOL

Priceless.:san:

Gld you like the build.

I know you where going to gt hooked on stainless steel even more after the last one you got.:D

Ill get a picture for you comparing it next to my mini police lasers for you to get a better idea.:)

Awesome laser!

I too am a big fan of mini builds.

You should start selling these as a host and heatsink kit!!!

Nah. These are way to dificuilt to build in and take apart.:(

Ohhhh, a 445 in that host - I like!

Is that the same 10440 host from CNQualityGoods that I used for my "Zero DC" build?
http://laserpointerforums.com/f50/sneak-peak-tease-zero-dc-635nm-build-69483.html

It looks similar, but the button end might be a bit different.

WOW. I dint even see your build. Thats sweet in 635nm.

It should be the same host.

What a pain getting apart huh. Almost cut my hand screwing it back together on the ring.

No kidding! Though admittedly it took me a long time to even figure out that the front ring (seriously, it's like 1mm thick) actually unscrews. It's such a *perfect* machine job, that the seems are quite literally imperceptible.

Yeah it took me some time to even notice that too.LOL I was trying to unscrew it from the inside first.

I have to trim a little off on the 14500 "Heatsink"<< (if you can call it that) So it can close a little better and you wont see the line.

I just found out after trying in my extra 10440 host that Wills 10.5mm modules fits in PERFECT in these Host. Is that what you are using in your 635nm build.? If so I can trim one down for you and then trim down a Aixiz Focusing ring also so ever thing fits inside the next time you end up building another one for yourself. Let me know and ill order a few extra module.

The module sits flush with the end of the ring not behind it. This way you get a little extra room to fit your driver in there.:) Its actually ho i made the one for mine.

Even a flex drive cannot fit in this host with the pill. Which iam still using after hallowing it out.

I used some crazy 8mm diameter modules from eBay. Don't Will's modules use something other than M9x0.5?

Luckily, my Mosquitos are smaller than flexdrives :)

Well, I have two more of the hosts here - I need to do something with them! If you think that approach would work, I'm all for it!

They sure do take the stander M9 x 0.5 nut.:D

Laser Module Housing Brass 10.5mm dia. Plastic adjustable Focus Lens AixiZ type | eBay

^^^These. I had a few from eh time he sent me some to check out and the take the standard lens size we use. However they are Much longer then an Aixiz One.

But it fits Perfect. Its not a tight fit. Bit just as tight of a fit as pushing a Aixiz Module into a custom heatsink. Maybe even a little bit better i must say.

I know it will work because I made my heatsink design the same way iam going to turn down the module. Ill take some pictures of it tonight. But you have to use the pill or the module will side back and forth. unless you hook the driver up to the back of the diode and have the battery pressure hold it in place. Maybe even can use some adhesive to hold it in place if you dint want to use the pill.

I dint know they where smaller then the Flex. Cool.
