WL-To be offering 500mw Red in S3 Spyder!?

Hello everyone,

Long time since I have posted. But while looking thru WL's website, earlier today their top header picture showed the 4 different models, and in the discription under the Artic Spyder, it stated "In 4 colors". I just checked again, and that top 4 picture imaging is gone, but if you open the S3 Fusion Spyder Green, and look under the technical specs, you will see specs for a 650nm at 400-500mw!!!!

I am also on the eternal wait list for an Artic, and from what I have read, WL isn't shipping out anything right now while they struggle to get these Artics done and out, but regardless of their unexpected high demand which has caused them to take a step back, that S3 Spyder Host I believe to be way cool looking!!!

I am having visions of a 1-W 445, a 500mw Greenie, and a 500mw 650 all in this same S3 host, all in a nice briefcase, with the expanded lens kits and spare batteries and chargers, and of course eye protection, and you then have the High Powered market covered in all colors, and all at great prices in an awesome host. (Assuming the red mentioned their comes to be and it is a reasonable price, which I believe it will be.) Not to mention if they offer the 405nm in the S3 too at anything over 200mw.

Anyone know of this to be coming? Obviosly, no one should order a thing untill the Artics start shipping, but once everyone finally gets that mean blue monster in thier hands, you will all forget about the months it took to get it. And I would bet that everyone will be so satisfied, then WL will be taken off the Sh!t list and then it will be time to take advantage of all thier great price drops and what appears to be a new trend coming to WL, where any of the four colors can be had in any of thier hosts.

How Cool Will That Be???

Just somethong to keep an eye on, and if anyone knows of this "any color in any host" thing to be potentially coming, please reply with your comments and knowledge of this.

If they do do it, at that power, it'll probably be a huge multimode beam... Maybe not, but we'll have to see -- for one I'm certainly not going to take another chance on WL's claims again. I'm sticking with CNI for the time being.

Yes, I can certainly understand being shy of WL just due to the false info and claims they have made, but that is more of a customer relations problem i would say, but on the other hand knowing what can happen running a business, i can see and understand what happened to WL when they got slammed with orders probably near the ten times or more figure of what they expected, and what that can do to a company that actually doesn't just have them in stock and/or laying around, and also relying on other companies to produce the parts they need to proceed with a product. It might not be all thier fault, as far as production is concerned. But true, thier customer service needs major work.

Wickedlasers had the 500mW in the Spyder3 host some time ago, it was about $1500.

Ya, I can see that being true on both counts. I wasn't trying to really say anything good or bad, (and I have been out of the forums for quite some time with my divorce and 3 heart attacks this past year, so please excuse any misguided statements due to my lack of knowledge that has happened in the recent past.)

I just wondered if anyone else had knowledge of their 4 color per host and about the 500mw red. The above post said they did offer a 500 red before, which I didnt know, so thank you for the info there. I just hope if they do make it again, it ain't that much in price, LOL

So if anything said offends anyone or in either group, please excuse my ignorance. Can't we all just get along? :{)

My $.02 = Wicked fked up their kinda good rep with the Arctic, i as an individum wouldnt have any trust in future products from this company..
