IT'S HERE !!! And dammit, I have to go to work soon, so no reviews til the AM, but here's the "tear it all open and turn em all on" preliminary:

The order was exceptionally well packed, foam wrap, all lasers individually boxed, everything has an instruction sheet, etc - actually quite impressive as shipments go (every laser was grouped by type in individual foam packs, even...WOW!)

As I have no LPM of my own (and it's daylight) this is just going to be speculative, but compared to my trusty LED Shoppe 50mW that has been confirmed via LPM at 62mW average, all the claimed 50's (Mini-RPL Style with the CR123's) seem as bright and a couple are actually visually brighter, the beam diameters vary but not too sloppily (definite dot differences at 20ft but barely discernable) and this is with the supplied batteries... The "New-Wish" style 50's are just average, some about the same as my 62, some a little less - about the same as an order of LED Shoppe 50's at first glance.

The 30mW Romisen I picked up as a potential host is solid as anything I've seen, the button is a bit funky and will probably need a little tweaking (feels sorta weak but the driver/spring is way off center so it actually is likely an alignment/contact disorder), the beam is surprisingly bright and actually even though it comes out at a slight angle has a VERY sharp, small spot (can't wait to really dig into that one) ...

The supposed "200mW" is actually quite visibly brighter than my confirmed 140mW greenie - THAT floored me (although I'm using a 3.7v CR2 as that's all I have except the ones from the Dildas which are all dead at the moment) - This one might actually be a serious winner, more to come... I'm not holding my breath on a solid 200mW, but unless my eyes are shot it really IS brighter than my confirmed 140...Wow.

The 50mW "Star" pointers are just plain cool, heavy, exceptionally bright for a claimed 50mW, nice switches, definitely a winner at this point...

The Ultrafire rifle scope I picked up, well, it's claimed as 20mW and definitely isn't overspec, dot size is OK, XY adjustment rings are a little stiff (prob dry O-rings), build is actually a little more solid than the "no-name" models I've had in the past - the pressure switch is a lot more solid feeling of a "click" than most ... prob won't get a chance to LPM this one as it's for a buddy and he'll prob pick it up tomorrow (I'll get some pics though first)

Allright - off to get ready for work, more tomorrow!

Well the 50mW "mini-rpl" styles were a big hit at the show last night (selling like hotcakes) ... I had to throw up a pic or two here though (detailed reviews on all the new toys later tonight) , the beams on these are pretty decent but WOW are they off-centered on a few of them, so bad in fact I had to snap a couple of pics!

Another thing, the (2) 100mW mini-rpl they sent me had no warning stickers on them (one had residue and it looked like it had been peeled off) and were marginally brighter than the 50's with nice beams and all, but I get the feeling they peeled the stickers off a couple of "80's" or even a couple of really bright "50's" - can't wait to get to an LPM this afternoon and confirm ...

BCM that's a really bad alignment problem, ouch....... also they housed the module off center poorly built. :-?

Win some, lose some, just a quick ? what was the profit margin on those. And what happens when somebody pisses off the
staff with one of those, how does that work, do you weedout the idiots personaly. These are just questions not meant at all
to be abrasive. Josh

No problem, Josh - wait til you see the review I'm putting together on those, I actually have already torn down the worst of the bunch (in the name of science, of course) - the crystal is mounted almost 70% offset on that one, ouch (although I will say, they went through a LOT of effort to make it lase green, so if nothing else they get an "A" for tenacity ;D)

As to the other questions, I sell the 50's for around $50 (the pen styles are straight $50, the mini-RPL's I have at $60 but if someone wants to try and chew me down I'll go $55) so the margin is pretty much 100% ... I have sold a few Dildas with the charger, batteries, etc for $75 but everyone really seems to like the greens... Bottom line, I generally make enough to get a few neat toys for myself and keep the inventory up, that's it (now if I could find a different hobby, then we could actually talk "profit"...)

As to the staff, let's see, I think the current record holder is the head of security at a local club I play, he's got 2 of the pen 50's (one for his car/life/etc, one for work), one of the dildas, and as of last night one of the mini's, plus a standing order for one of the 200's next time I order... It's actually a pretty cool thing, everyone is really responsible about it (having the lasers, that is) so when I fire up the laser display it's really neat to see beams shooting from all over the club (sorta like lighters at a concert) - there are certain clubs we work where I won't even bring out the handhelds due to the type of crowd they have, but seriously I have never encountered any real troubles with having them out there.

If you don't mind me asking....how did you get them through customs? Do you have a License for them? or did they just show up? The reason I ask is because I have had a laser taken from me at customs before. Maybe..in the future when I get some extra money, I could just buy one through you. :)

It depends on who I order them through as to how they ship, some use China Post (basically Airmail) and others use EMS Express (really fast 3-4 days to my door) but either way, they are invoiced to my company (not myself) as "Electronic Component Samples" or "Production Prototypes" (I always request that and so far noone has had a problem doing it for me) - from the inquiries I have made, etc it is far less unlikely to have an insured, "business to business" package inspected or seized by customs ...

Then again (funny story) you can imagine my fears and concerns the first time long ago that I ordered over $2k worth of high-powered laser displays direct from SHINP, knowing full well that I was taking a huge chance with customs, etc (it was my first order direct from China) .... After several sleepless nights, etc here come 8 boxes from China (deep sigh of relief) and on the declaration read the words "Class IIIb Aerial Laser Display"

I REALLY should be getting to work but I can't stop messing with these lasers - you want to talk misalignment, check this out (not the best macro shot but you'll get the idea...)

You're right there, John (I have no plans to try and mess with it) - my point though is the beam comes out of the aperature almost 20 degrees off-axis, that's gotta be a record of some sort, even for the chinese!

On a good note though, when I get home I have to dig out my micrometer and take a few measurements to confirm, but this might just be the easiest drop-in host EVER for one of susies modules (the disassembly is unbelieveably straightforward and the build is among the most solid I've seen) - meaning that for around $30 you get a kick-ass "mini RPL" host to drop that 150 into, plus you get an extra 50mW module to mess around with as a bonus...

this one's already destined for a blu-ray mod, btw ;)

"on the declaration read the words "Class IIIb Aerial Laser Display"

Couldn't they have just marked it "Illegal Narcotics" to be safer? ;D

Speaking of customs I just remembered this picture I saw a while ago...
