...Is the diode led'd, or just running at such a low power it seems weak? Why would he want a diode if it works, shouldn't he want a new driver?

You need to do a little reading in some of the other threads!

I have one as well as Lasersbee and another memeber. I have not had any problems with mine. It's just like anything else there are good ones and bad ones. I like mine! For $170. I can't complain!

You do know that this guy took his laser apart and modified the driver right?...I'm not in anyway siding with lvyilaser, but if you take apart the laser and modify the driver for higher watts, then shouldn't that void the warranty? On the other hand since it was advertised at 1 watt and didn't meet the specs, that's when you should have returned it..

I only took this laser apart to my labo (with esd protection) at work to look how is built the driver , then understand why the driver can't give 1W
Then inform lvyilaser owner that there is 3 configurations for PT4115 driver.

1 . LOW 280mA current Output : L=100uH Rcs=0.33ohm
2. STANDART 720mA current Output : L=47uH Rcs=0.13ohm = lvyilaser config.
3. HIGH 1100mA current Output : L=27uH Rcs=0.0825ohm

That was only discution about electronique, I wanted to help 445 lyvilaser 1W owner, by giving informations that I have find about the PT4115 module.
Meantime (without interventions on the driver) my laser begin to be weak.
So I have build a load to controle if probleme is driver or Led = driver give 4.5or 5.5V/800mA .. the 445nm led is dead.

I was not ready to pay $50 + 2 ways shipping + $14 custom taxes (laser return) to send my laser for a repair under garanty ! . It's preferable to buy only A140 led to our forum member ( I know what i buy!)
Of course if lyvilaser send me a new laser,thanks ! I will send the bad one with shipping tracking number.

There are plenty of "evil plot henchmen" here, they tried to secretly ban me a few months ago. The funny thing is I know who they are, LOL, and they still dont have the balls to step up from the shadows. And they call me the troll. :eg:

Wow what a mess. I dont know why they just didnt send him a diode, and cut their losses.

Expletives are often also idiomatic expressions. Literal translations seldom make sense. Babblefish can only do literal, word-for-word translation.

I think that "bastard: stool: garbage" is pretty easy to understand though ;)

Anyway, livylasers's performance on this site have pretty much ruined any chance of selling anything through here.
