Beware I ordered a RPL 375 from optotronics from "Jack"
at first everything was Great it peaked at 454 would hold steady at 380-420 +
But now it keeps going higher and higher at first I thought my meter was malfunctioning but i tried my other meter same thing - so be warned if you want a laser thats way over powered don't buy from Jack go elsewhare here's a pic to prove it to you ,man i'm so upset ;D :D ;)

Yikes!! I feel sorry for you. I bought my last laser from WL, so I never had to live in fear of my laser being dangerously overpowered ilke that. In fact, in the ultimate gesture of safety and goodwill, my WL decided it would be best to stop emitting photons completely. :p

In a way I kinda wish lasers were advertised at their correct output. Suppose you fork over a very shiny penny for an RPL 425 and is is to spec. Then Joe Blow buys a RPL 375 and it is way overspec! You can't complain. You got what you paid for and the other guy got lucky. It's getting to the point where we are almost expecting at least 15% overspec power from any portable laser.

But I really don't see why people are upset about this at such high powers. I mean, does it really matter past 100mW? Either way, it will instantly burn your eyes out, so I'd think people would be happy if they are overspec. :-?

It's good when a quality company marks peak power as well as 'average power'...

That's much more professional!

Can't go wrong with Optotronics! :)
