TMart sent me a free laser (for no reason at all).

Back in August, I ordered a "230mw" 532nm focusable laser from Tmart, which happened to be out of stock in both the US and China. After discussing this, one of the sales reps gave me a full refund, and I bought a different laser instead. So about a month and half later (September 15th-ish), I'm expecting a package from Rayfoss in the mail, and I get home from school to find a package in my mailbox. I was all pumped up and what not, ready to finally get my first true-spec'd 405nm "legit" laser, only to find out that it wasn't from Rayfoss at all; it was the laser that I'd ordered back in September- the one I'd been refunded for. I wasn't quite as happy as I would have been if it were my Rayfoss laser (which never came, by the way- Faona gave me a refund, though :D), but I was pleased nonetheless. Mostly because it was completely free xD! It certainly was not truly 230mw, but it lit matches with a little bit of sharpie on them. Anyways... Has anyone else ever had anything like this happen to them in their lifetime of laser purchasing?

Not to me.....

Also, when all of the high and mighty people start saying you should send it back since you didn't pay for it, just ignore them.

haha yeah, If I got a free laser in the mail from some Chinese company I would definitely keep it. (if it was somehow from someone on here or somebody that I knew, and it got sent to me on accident I wouldn't keep it though.) But a Chinese company that marks up prices for cheap lasers, yeah I would keep it.

You're lucky. All Tmart ever gave me was an STD.

The risk is, if the company is smart enough they'll find out and charge you, but that is unlikely.

Keeping the laser is neither immoral nor illegal.

Enjoy it!

Happened to me a couple times, though not with lasers. I ordered a bunch of crap from mertiline, and only got half the order. Emailed them about two month later and they gave me a refund.

Another month goes by and I find package at my door... the missing half of crap.

Very very unlikely. At that point you have no legal obligation to pay, and they know this. So unless you're talking about an expensive item, it's not worth the hassle to even try.

A few years ago I got a huge xmas hamper delivered to someone who lived at my address previously, I rang the company up and said come and collect it, did that twice, no-one came to pick it up so I got a $200 Xmas hamper for free :)

Nahh companies are pretty much forced forced to eat a mistake like this. He could make a complaint to his credit card company and he would get it back

I had a car stereo in for repair at the place I bought it at, after over a month of calling to find out if it was fixed yet they finally just gave me a new one instead. About a year later I get a letter in the mail telling me that my stereo is fixed and the repair cost is $0 :)

Hey InfinitusEquitas, Did you have any problems with Meritline? (You did misspell that didn't you?) I am considering buying a few of their flashlights, yet am not sure they are trustworthy because of what I read on this page:
9 LED Outdoor/Indoor Flashlight for $1.00 + free shipping - tools, coupon, outdoor, flashlight - Deals.Woot

The day I entered my credit card information into Meritline (because they required it to change my address for some weird reason) was the day I became a victim of fraud. Luckily my bank caught them. The follow is a link where other people had similar issues. Meritline - credit card fraud?? - Slickdeals.net The fraud activity I had was $430 at a grocery store in New Jersey called Acme.

Thought I would give everyone a heads up. Good products at Meritline, just avoid giving them your credit card information at all costs...

I sent Meritline an email about this issue, and they did not respond to me, so I assume that know the problem and don't care...

Lol, yup, I did misspell:eek:

I ordered off of the site at least half a dozen times now, over the course of about a year now. Aside from the sometimes AGONIZINGLY slow delivery time, never had any issues. In fact the two times I was unhappy, they refunded me with absolutely no problems.

I expect the problems that person ran into were probably the result of a phishing scheme or the system being compromised on their end, just like I mis-typed it happens all the time and people get screwed:undecided:

To be on the safe side, always pay by a credit card.
