If anyone else can offer to pay the bills each month, they too can get their ad posted at the top of the page.
Sure, I'd like it if c0ld could put a little something before the banner saying "This is a paid advertisement and does not constitute the opinions of LPF" or something, but as it stands, they seem to be providing the forum with a good source of revenue which keeps the site alive.
I encourage you all to donate. If everyone here set aside even as little as $1 per year (!!!) it would generate $600/mo for the forum and we would be well within budget with enough extra cash for c0ld to get rid of all banners forever. Unfortunately very few people donate, which is why we've had to accept banner ads from companies the vast majority of the forum's users disagree with.

Long time no see, welcome back.
I don't speak for the forum or for c0ld, you can read my message with the words "the forum" in place of "we". I don't claim to know anything about the business aspect of the forum, my statements are based on assumptions. I just thought it'd be nice if more people donated, that's all.

BUT - the rest of what I typed, about c0ld being big enough to bury the hatchet still stands - and stands TALL. It's pretty easy to hammer on folks, or to post smack about them, or their business, but awfully damned hard to post GOOD things about people when the sharks are circling. Pseudolobster, my last comment was not directed at you, to make certain I am understood And thanks for the welcome back ! I have some LONG over-due reviews to post, and TONS of people to catch up with, but saw this thread, and really could not resist posting my $.02(u.s.)<----small letters for a small economy !
