Re: Just bought three lasers from Sci-Fi

Well that's quite the leap into high powered stuff since your return:) You are going to love the 465nm+. I seem to have gotten a whopper of a diode as mine hits just over 6W and should be around 470nm+. Makes my 462nm lasers look violet in a side by side comparison. See what you think when yours come in plus you will get to compare with a hot output 520nm too.
Don't know if you are aware yet but theres a relative brightness calculator tool that I believe has decent accuracy now here where you can check both the beam and dot:
Relative Laser Beam Brightness Calculator: (663nm 1mw) vs. (671nm 1mw)

Make sure to give us a show when you get them, and as always wear your safety glasses when working up close. :)

Hopefully my old pair of novalasers goggles are good enough for these. I'm not really a stranger to high powered lasers, but these new ones are in a whole higher tier. Currently my most powerful lasers are a 1.2-1.5W O-like 445 and a 450ish mw 532.

I've never posted in this forum, but after lurking for a while, and on the recommendations of your users, I decided to buy a laser from sci-fi lasers. What has since followed in my interactions with that seller has been unscrupulous, dishonest, and truly shocking, and I feel compelled to share it with this community of enthusiasts.

I'd like to warn all prospective buyers from sci-fi lasers about the customer service and warranty protection that is provided on this site, so that others do not end up in the same frustrating position that I've been in the last five months. Over these months, I've been continually shocked as one unprofessional and deceptive event after another has occurred, and I have been lied to over and over again, and have had to waste hours of my time to send 30+ emails. I'll document the chain of events that had occurred.

-First, the laser I was sent took more than a month to arrive, which I had expected, but it wasn't shipped until I began asking for a refund if it wasn't shipped soon.

-Second, when the laser arrived it was malfunctioning, and worked rarely and only intermittently. I emailed sci-fi lasers and was told that he would provide me with a solution within 24 hours. This was in December.

-Third, after waiting almost a week I asked again for a solution, and was again promised instruction on how to fix it myself (despite the warranty guaranteed).

-Then, after more waiting, I was told that he would just send a replacement module in place of the defective one, and that I could swap it out. I was happy enough with this resolution, and began waiting for the replacement to be sent.

-Next, more waiting before the real lying and deception began. Finally, after endless promises and emails, I was given a tracking number for the replacement module. This however turned out to be a fraudulent tracking number for a package he'd sent to the USA (I live in Canada), in an attempt to buy time. I informed him of this error, and he provided me with another tracking number again bound for the USA. He blamed the mix up on the post office and took no responsibility. He assured me that there was a replacement module on route. However, almost two months later, still nothing has arrived, not that I was surprised by this given his previous unreliability.

-Next, I began asking for a refund. Again I was told that this would be issued. Many promises were given (and broken) that within reasonable lengths of time this would be processed through PayPal. Then I was asked if I would wait until he got a pay check, to which I reluctantly agreed. Still no refund. Then I was actually told that it had been issued through PayPal, but obviously this was another lie, and I have not had any money returned to me. I guess I'm expected to believe that PayPal misplaced the refund the same way the post office misplaced the replacement module...

I have not heard from this seller since, and don't expect to be given a replacement laser or refund since his record has been so unreliable and dishonest.

I strongly suggest not doing business of any sort with this individual since he lies and deceives in his business dealings, sells defective products, and takes no responsibility for the lasers he sells. I've never had worse customer service in my life, and doubt I'll ever have worse in the future.

I can provide emails documenting this entire course of events for those who find this situation beyond belief.

Bottom line is: DO NOT BUY FROM SCI-FI LASERS SINCE IT IS RUN BY A DISHONEST INDIVIDUAL SELLING DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

re: Resolved

That sounds very strange coming from Eitan, who I've done a lot of business with in the past. I hope there is a resolution to this as I have never had any trouble with him,

re: Resolved

Could you also provide what the stated problem is with the laser? I've seen thejoker replace entire units even when the user admitantly was at fault. If you have read the reviews on here you would have known to reach out via a post and a pm to thejoker asking for help. Not a post well after saying not to buy because it's largely discredited by all others on here who have dealt with him seen most any issue get resolved.

re: Resolved

The problem, as described, is intermittent functionality (and not due to duty cycling), which I was interested in fixing and attempted to resolve over the last several months with the owner of sci-fi lasers. I have been in constant contact with him through email, and have never had more than promises of help/replacements/refunds, but all of these amounted to nothing. Worse were the lies that I have been fed about shipping replacements and refunds that have never occurred. In my experience this individual has taken zero responsibility, and it had been nothing but a headache and a waste of money and energy dealing with him. I am writing this as a warning to others, and I have attempted to resolve this issue through email for many months before posting here. I did not want to have to resort to making a public complaint, but feel it necessary to do so after my experiences.

Did you ever try to do a chargeback?
