I've shot an email to Sanwu about this already a few days back and no reply yet. But might as well cover all my bases on this issue.
As far as I know, they will automatically dim when they over heat without doing damage. But I would still check with Sanwu because 10 second duty cycle seems really short to me. ??

Let us know what they say. Thanks

The 3w 445nm challenger II laser can run unlimitedly with no bad effect/damage to the laser diode because our driver adjusts the current/laser output constantly depends on the temperature.

if you want to keep a good average output, we recommend a 60 seconds on and off duty cycle.

10 seconds is defintely unusual, we will contact you for the matter.

We extended the warranty from three months to six months for the 7W 455nm spiker laser.

The new warranty also apply to current 7W spiker owners who bought their laser within last six months.

Sanwu, a added bonus after the fact.

Mine's working flawlessly, wickedly bright. With the BE on the beam is just awesome to behold.

I can't figure out how to change mode, no matter what I do, my spiker just stays in low power.

Probably locked in safety mode if your picked multi mode for your laser. Usually five half-taps and wait for two seconds is what it takes to unlock the laser.

Hi,

I'm interested in buying a 405nm laser (1W) and have a couple of questions.

What is the difference between the Silver and the Spiker (light and normal) series? Is it just the batteries?

What is the beam divergence for this wavelength? Is there a difference between multi- and single mode?

Is the 3-element the standard lense? What is the diameter (7 or 9 mm) for above series?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Fastlaser,

Silver is full copper made, takes two 18650 li-ion batteries.

Spiker comes with a stainless steel body with aluminium & copper heatsink, it takes two 26650 li-ion batteries.

Multi mode and single mode are referring the operation mode of the laser driver, not the laser diode so it won't affect the beam divergrnce no matter which mode you pick.

We recommend G2 lens for 405nm lasers, 7mm or 9mm lens holder are usable on both series.

You can shoot me a pm if you have more questions related to our products!

Who has the 503nm diode coming? I noticed the other day that it was in customs from the tracking on it. Hope it gets there soon. I have had patchy luck sending items to China.

I am, Paul.
Hope it gets there soon :P

EDIT: Looking at the tracking, it shows it as Departed USPS Regional Facility, item currently in transit to the destination, but has been like that since the 27th of July (USPS Tool and 17track give the same answer). Are you sure that you are looking at (or you gave me) the correct tracking number?

Yeah, that is unfortunately my experience with shipping to China. I didn't cheap out on sending it as you well know. It always seems to cost a lot and take forever for items to get where they are going there. Happens to me every time.
