I emailed Jack two weeks ago this weekend and have not heard a response. RPL300 w/sub par performance after a year of not very hard use at all. These do not last very long! ::)
What kind of sub-par performance are you talking about?

It was my fault.
I thought I replied to his email, but it was actually a reply I had sent to him almost a year to the day before.
I was out of the office for a week at Thanksgiving and his message was in with over 200 others, still that is no excuse and I have contacted Nordhavn.

As for sub-par performance, the original RPL he bought was one of the 1st 10 built and sold back in mid 2006, it was repaired in Oct. 2007 (about 18 months later). Nordhavn also sent me a message long ago about his being able to bun a hole through his computer keyboard with his RPL-300 and that it was outputting in the high 300's low 400's if I recall correctly. I do think he said it took time to burn through the keyboard and that his was able to run continuously until the battery drained.
I'll have to look and see if I can find that message and put it in my testimonials.
I am sorry I screwed up and didn't get back to him; Nordhavn is very knowledgeable about lasers and have enjoyed working with him over the years and hearing some of his stories and experiences.

Re: Optotronics Service?

Actually it burned through a WHITE IBM model 84 because I fell asleep with it running on level 2 which allowed it to run continuously without the protection kicking in! ;D

These lasers are AWESOME when new but seem to drift when they get some miles on them. I'm capable of fixing this if it's mechanical but right now I don't have the time due to a family emergency. I have removed the original post since it was kind of harsh.

Mine is still great after 10 months of good use. Works just as new with a few dings in the paint, and the sticker is peeling off. ;D
