So I ordered 2 lasers from rayfoss, and was told they would ship out on or before august 27th....is that china time or american time? Also, I am really sketched out about buying stuff online.....could someone just assure me that Rayfoss is legit and not a scam?

Rayfoss is legit, and in general people seem perfectly satisfied with the lasers they get from them.

One word of advise however: As you seem to be new to higher-powered lasers, you'll want to get laser glasses if you haven't already. Pictures and videos can't even begin to show how bright lasers can get and you can easily blind yourself even if you are being careful.

Would you might telling us which lasers you bought?

If you get the 100mW C0B (I think) you get goggles with it, Rayfoss are legit and their lasers are pretty much at Spec.

If he steals your avatar and pchops the laser into a 405, I will piss myself laughing.

They are in China, so it would be China time. Of course rayfoss has little control over exactly when things will ship as they are a dropshipper i.e. they don't stock or ship the items they sell; a 3rd party is drop shipping their items.

Hey, wow, I didn't know we had such a similar username, but don't worry, when I manage to get a picture up I *won't* copy and paste yours. The lasers I am getting are the 200mW Red Waterproof and the 50mW Green Waterproof. Thank yall for alleviating my fears; I have always been hesitant about buying online, much less online from China. I will def be posting reviews when I get them although I don't have a power meter. And when I was emailing her she said she could gift me the glasses since I am buying 2 lasers. Safety first......now the wait :/

I just got my laser from Rayfoss on Monday that I ordered on July 24th...I dont think that long of a wait is normal but i'm not exactly sure.

Overall I am happy with my order of a 200mW waterproof greenie. They sent me safety glasses which i didnt expect and the package came from Singapore. While tracking my order it said something along the lines of: "Your order left Singapore on August 2nd" Then it randomly showed up Monday with no update in the online tracking through USPS.

If you can stand the wait, you will be happy with the order when you get it! Good luck, and be safe!

Rayfoss is extremely trustworthy. I have ordered (and received) over a dozen lasers from them and they were all up-to spec.
The only drawback is the long shipping times. It could take up to 3 weeks to get to the US from China. But it's usually like 10 days to 2-weeks from when you place the order to when you receive it at home.

What kind of shipping did you opt for? I went ahead and purchased the 3-6 Day World-wide shipping, because frankly, patience isn't one of my strong points. If you did get 3-6 Day and it took THAT long, well then this is me rite now:

It was actually my first high powered laser so I wasn't in a huge hurry because I needed to read up first so I got whatever their standard shipping is. It was just weird that it flew out air post on the 2nd and I got it 3 weeks later...

Im from texas too and i bought from them and they shipped 8/19 usps has it right now and ther arn't updating me... anyways it should be here by mid week after next.

I guess what I am really asking here is this: is the timeframe of shipping that I payed for (3-6 days worldwide) longer than advertised? And kulhu, what lasers did you purchase?

I have only paid for express shipping once, and my stuff came in about half the time as going with regular shipping.
With all the stuff I order from overseas, I have learned that patience is necessary. Express shipping from china (and thru customz) isn't like getting something from Amazon. It does take time.
You might see your lasers in 4 days if you are lucky. Depends on how fast the man in the boat is rowing this week.
ps: I know bootleg2go said that they are a drop shipper, but I disagree. They have a stock of items and engineers that can and will install IR filters on the higher-end lasers if you ask.
If you have any worries, they are very prompt and polite with email responses.

Im a Ray Foss fan and haven't had any problems yet with getting my lasers sent to me. I did find the shipping was on the slow side so I just pay the 23-25 dollars and have the item 's in hand by the third day.

Faona is a great gal to, she usually responds later at night or Earlie in the morning.

The guy that said they work with a drop shipper.... Well how do they know the stable out put before we get the item? I know RF has asked me if I wanted the blue led lamp removed from a 150mW before they ship it out so im sure they get and lpm the laser b4 shipping.

I had shipped back a laser for a replacement and cost me 10 bucks and took 12 days for it to arrive. The focus ring was loose and Faona said she will make sure this time I get what I ask for.... All in all I trust them and they will continue to get my business...

one more thing... Singapore has been getting alot of flooding recently and has been holding things up

I did not hesitate about rayfoss, so i ordered a Laser. But since 3 Days i ask for a trackingnumber and everytime Rayfoss write me: Your Laser is well packed and will leave in next hours. But actually i think everything will work fine at the end. Rayfoss has always some nice reputations.

As I have found out shipping from China can be hit and miss, I am also into rc helicopters and get most of my parts from China. Every so often things will get held up by customs. I order from Hong Kong a lot, sometimes I get stuff in 4 or 5 days somtimes it's 2 or 3 weeks.
I hate waiting also, when I buy something I want it now.

If you give this info to a newbie, it's really misleading.
They're dropshippers for sure. You were lucky to get up-to-spec ones and you are just lucky.
Their supplier certainly helps them sort out the lasers by power and do something to respond to the way too high failure rate to win the customers. Laser sellers are not stupid, anyway. But what if their suppliers suck? Yes, they do.

I would recommend a new member to buy cni, jetlasers, viacho, coz they all use the nlight LD and always provide high quality & stability lasers. You can also ask them to provide the test result of every spec you're interested.

I did check the pricing of the 200mw or higher green lasers at rayfoss. Compared to the cost, the price is way too high. Why not get a more guaranteed laser with the similar amount of dollars.
