I am planning to finally get a 473nm laser, ive always wanted a blue CNI pen(aurora/aquarius). i have noticed that rayfoss is now stocking the CNIs in 5mW and 10mW and the prices are sweet, but it looks to good to be true. the rayfoss site looks almost like a fishing scam site, the FAQ page is from crate and barrel furniture, and states that you can return items to crate and barrel:thinking:. it doesnt make any sense. i didnt go through checkout yet, but there site doesnt even list a payment method. im wondering if any1 has bought from them since the change over, and if any1 has any clarity to this. and if anyone has purchased the CNI 473nm pen from them please let me know how everything went. thanks for any advice or comments

I've ordered a Rayfoss 200mW 532nm laser two weeks ago which should arrive any day now. First emailed Faona about it though. I'll try to let you know when I get it. No experience on the 473nm though..

Any company (and I use the term loosely) that will steal documents from other websites is not to be trusted as they have no morals, integrity or honesty. I hope crate and barrel sues their ass and their hosting provider drops them for violating copyright laws.

It also shows they don't even care about their return policy or what it says and don't even have the basic intelligence to read and remove the crate and barrel name or support phone numbers from the return policy before posting it as their own.
If they can't take 10 minutes and think about and type up their own policy rather than stealing from others; how much time and effort do you think they are going to put into even testing your laser. Chances are they don't even stock products, but just drop ship like the others.

I'll be interesting when crate and barrel starts getting calls from rayfoss customers for support.

Sorry for the rant, but I had a laser company steal word for word our specs and more a few years back, (cough...techlasers...cough) and it's a really sore spot with me when others steal your work, there is no excuse for this kind of thievery.

I've never heard of any problems with customs a part from an user here who got confiscated a package of 50 green pointers or more.

As far as I can say, Rayfoss is trustable.

Hi,

Faona (Rayfoss side of the equation) is a very honest person who's intent is to establish a viable business from pretty much scratch (the term budding entrepreneur comes to mind).

Having to guess, I'd say her background is much more on the business end and much less on the technical end. And this can be applied to both laser science as well as Web engineering... ;)

Hence, she has good business practices but the products she sells seem to be more of a trial-by-error then by technical testing & QA... . In fact, she's a "middleman" and she will not come in contact with the item you order; that item will have been shipped directly from one of her sources (industrial factories).

Bottom line, you may or may not get what you asked for - but if you don't, she will more than ready to make up for it - via replacement, another product, or refund (minus "re-stocking fee" which is std operating procedure for many companies, regardless on which Continent they may be based).

thanks guys, ive been talking to glenn, for $50 more i can get the 20mW version, gauranteed output, and no importing. although this rayfoss 10mW will arrive quicker, i feel its a better deal to go with glenn at this point, ive waited this long whats another 3 weeks, especialy for double the mW.
