OK, so heres the problem.

I recently ordered a laser from Rayfoss: www.rayfoss.com

I chose Rayfoss after seeing this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/guide-buying-your-first-green-laser-30608.html

The problem is that that thread is old, and now I am hearing a lot of bad things about Rayfoss. Since it is Chinese New Year, I still have some time before they ship so decide if I want to cancel the order and get a laser from somewhere else. I got a lot of suggestions on a previous thread for O-Like, specifically this laser: 200mW transformable green laser/adjustable [OLV6200] - $129.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

My problem with it, however, is that it is not IR filtered. People have told me that it is not that important for it to be IR filtered, but I just want to be safe. Does O-Like add an IR filter if you need it? Is there anywhere I can get an IR filtered laser cheaply, or is there really not much IR in the O-Like?

Otherwise I could just get the more expensive 350mW New portable Green laser torch(IR filtered) [OLNGL350] - $295.00 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products, Though I do not know if I am ready to spend that kind of money on a laser.

Thanks!

Rayfoss won't unknowingly sell you garbage like some of the larger Chinese discount companies.
You might get an on-spec laser or an underperforming one.
The point is, if it's an underperformer, they'll replace it without a problem.
The same thing could happen with O-Like and they also have good customer service.
In rare cases you might get an overspec unit.
In both cases you are dealing with some of the better "cheaper" companies so I wouldn't stress about it.

Personally i have purchased from rayfoss two lasers back in october and november, both work great and im very happy with them, one of those being a 50mW FLX model.

There are many positive reviews for the 200mW version, so it seems to be a very reliable model even for a "cheap" high-powered greenie.

Indeed. The 200 mW version is one of the top sellers!

OK, thanks guys. I have decided not to cancel the order. When I get my laser, should I do a review on it, or are there enough?

Yeah I saw that review when deciding what laser to get. And by the way rambler, they gave me safety glasses for free (I do not know how good quality they will be though).

And I will make sure to do a review!

Wait, bigger issue here. Is this your first laser? If so, 150mW IS TOO POWERFUL!

Who are you talking to? Neither one of us got a 150mw. If you were talking to me, then no, this is my fourth laser. First was a 30mw green, then I made a red dvd burner laser, and then I made a blu ray laser. Obviously none of these had a very visible beam, so I want a powerful green laser.

Well from my recent experience with Rayfoss I've gotta say I'm impressed. I got prompt correspondence via email after placing my order, all questions answered and transaction completed within an hour.

I placed my order on the 26th Jan and Faona did warn me that it wouldn't be shipped till the 10th Feb because of the holidays.. to my surprise though I got my package on the 2nd. I chose EMS shipping.
