Question about SingPost

I have a package coming from Hong Kong, China, and it is being shipped by Sing Post. I was wondering if any of you know whether the tracking info is A. accurate, and B. whether it will be updated after it arrives in the US. It currently says "ITEM DESPATCHED TO OVERSEAS" and it's location says J.F. Kennedy (I'm assuming this means the JFK airport in New York). This last update was Sunday (8/19). Thank you to anyone who can answer one or both questions. I will post a review once I get my item :san:

I cannot remember dealing with 'Sing Post', but I have received many items from China over the years. Unless special (more expensive) shipping options are chosen, tracking usually stops when the package leaves China. The information has been consistent with the time it took to receive the package in every case I have experienced though.

The occasional false time frame tends to be created at the retailer/drop-shippers end, and delays are usually due to items being out of stock or customs issues in the recipient's country.

Unless you have issues getting your items through US customs, you should be perfectly fine!

I've seen tracking through singpost all the way to post office. Usually though, what happens is the tracking stops working on signpost, but works on usps.com.

It's not always correct though. I had a couple of packages that showed up, even though tracking still probably says they are dispatched.

Don't stress yourself out until it's been at least four weeks.

Thanks for the answers guys. It's only been like 3 days so I have no worries at all. I honestly didn't think my order would be shipped until today because I ordered it Thursday of last week, and apparently it shipped. USPS.com says that it is still in Singapore, which isn't really all that surprising considering it's only been two days of actual shipping.

Good news so far, USPS tracking started working. I might be on track for record time shipping from china.

Edit: In case anyone else has the same question, the tracking doesn't update until the item arrives at your house, and you are required to sign for the item if it is sent by registered mail via USPS.

Unfortunately though, I was left a notice at my house saying the item couldn't be delivered because I wasn't home to sign for it, so now I have to wait until tomorrow to get my package.
