Hey, so I was looking on Modwerks(I really need to do another project....its like an addiction!:anyone:) and I came across THIS Module/Heatsink Assembly. It is all in pieces so I was wondering if anyone has a pic of what it looks like assembled, as well as how well it dissipates the heat. For example, would it be alright heatsinking for a 445? A 6X? I mean, what would be the target diode for this Module to house?

Thanks for any and all replies! Peace,
Isaac

You sir, seem to be missing your link to the product.

If it's what I think it is, the $25 heatsink, it should be able to sink the heat off any diode quite effectively as it does have a lot of mass and a lot of surface to air for usage with fans (active cooling with airflow).

Link added in OP, its not the Labby style. It is 12.99 and looks a lot like the front end of the Kryton Grooves. I was gonna add the link originally, but 'me ADD kicked in and I published the thread without it ha!

That would be nothing but a little bigger Aixiz module and I would not trust it to handle anything over 1W of heat, as I have used some 1W IR diodes in modules very similar to those.

You should do OK with red diodes and 6x blurays I think. Anything over that, needs moar mass, or more fins and airflow. Your call.

so for a 6X do you think it would be able to run one at 100% duty cycle?

I use that in my scanner for my 445 @ 750ma with a small fan and it works fine. I would be scared running it without a fan on it though.
