Hey, i messaged lazerer but have yet to receive a reply. I'm just curious i'm seeing mixed reviews about this company some people say that this company normally doesn't have problems with customs. Do most of their shipments actually make it through to the U.S. What happens if it gets taken by customs? Do they refund you? mail another? if they mail another wont it just get taken again? What's their actual shipping time most people say about 30 days, but i'be seen alot saying like 8-9 days!!!???

I've been reading up on them and most stuff i get is either biased or on both ends of the scale.

One other question i've read through everything about this laser but which way do you put the battery in? Does the + end go towards the tailcap or towards the laser diode?

They are still on vacation, that is why there is no reply.

If you do not insure your order (extra $2) they may not refund/reship it if it gets confiscated.

How do you ensure your pruduct i never had an option to do that? i bought that piece of paper for 5$ that says the power and stuff. But i never had an option to insure it!

It's in their fine print on the shipping info page. You have to manually send the fee after placing your order, and link it with your order via email/contact form by using your order number.

I wish they would make it a selectable option though, would really simplify things.

When did you order, btw? They haven't processed or shipped an order since January 12th 2012, iirc. They should get back to work by February 2nd. If you placed your order after the 11th (it would be the 12th in china) it may not be lost/confiscated after all.

I placed it 2 days ago. So i just need to send them an additional 2$ and give my order ID, and paypal Transaction ID, in the notes and they will check it?
and then use the contact form, and resend my message with all that info?

Yep that's pretty much exactly what I did, got my order with no issues and Max verified my insurance within a day of paying. You'll have to wait until they come back from vacation of course for a reply though.

Do you live in the U.S.? If so, how long did it take you to get it? have you made multiple purchases? if so, how many made it past customs?

I'm really worried about customs taking it.

I live in the US (it's right under my name =P ), and every single order has made it through customs without a hitch. The only significant purchase was the 1.2W Rifle for myself, the rest were all 1mW and 5mW greens for family. That being said, the only one really in danger of being confiscated was the one for myself and it got through no problem, I even had batteries shipped with it and that often causes issue.

I can't remember how long it took to get here from the date I shipped it but it is all in my review in the review section of this forum. I will say it got from China to the US and THROUGH US customs within a couple days, it just got delayed by the US postal service (they are REALLY slacking off since the new year).

Good choice, that is what I did as well. Well, not the charger, I had my own.

This is not entirely true. In your review it says it left Chinese customs, and arrived here (US) the next day. Chinese tracking information is notoriously wrong. I've received items when the tracking said they were still in China. I know Max personally, and have never received a package in under 3 weeks. Other vets will tell you the same. Even EMS, which cost $25+just for shipping, can only get it here in 3-4 days. Their own shipping info states that its 7-14 day deliver period, not including any customs delays.

Shipping

Now factor in they are on vacation, and you should get delivery in 3-6 weeks. Mostly because they will be backed up with orders when they come back, and as said the postal service is slow this time of year.

I can't argue with that. I was basing my info off of the tracking results, why would it say it was through customs when it was still in route to the us though?

Honestly Chinese tracking is a joke. They have so much crap flowing out of China I dont think they could ever keep record of it all.

EDIT: About insurance. You are responsible for taking out insurance. This being said, you are also committing a crime trying to get a high power hand held laser into the country. I dont think I'd want this recorded in an insurance statement.

Isn't it only a crime if it is marketed as something it is not? All lasers above 5 mw are required to have key-switches and the likes (which all of Lazerer's products I have seen have)

It is illegal to import Lasers >5mW if they are not CDRH compliant.
Where did you see Key Switches (which are only a part of the
requirements by the CDRH) on all the Lazerer Laser products...

@ the OP... It took about 3 weeks from time of order to getting
my Laser into my hands as well. You will need to be a bit more
patient when dealing with a company on the other side of the
globe. Max supplies good customer service... IMO

That's interesting, because most of Lazerer's lasers I've been looking at don't have key switches. (Rifle..Stick,,,Cyber)
