sorry to dig this up, but i was wondering if dragonlasers is still sticking around, and the outcome of this dispute.

I don't know about the outcome of the dispute, but Dragonlasers is definitely still around, I'm talking to a support rep as we speak, about my Spartan GW >300mW order. They're still around and still taking orders.

i'm coming from an objective point of view here amnizu, but may i ask why you're still interested in purchasing from DL though it doesn't have very good rep among the senoir members of the forum?

Its a lot easier to stay in business when you pull in scammed cheap profit. The honest companies have to try a lot harder, and we have to do out best to do the research, or we'll just be supporting the scammers.

Because the Spartan is everything that I have ever wanted in a laser; no safety features like keys, interlocks, emission delays or aperture shutters, rechargeable batteries, small profile, click on/off tailcap for constant use, and a cool name like the Spartan has. On top of that, I have the money to blow. If I get ripped off, I will return my product, but ultimately if I'm out that money, then so be it. I can handle that right now.

I mean no offense to the senior members of this forum, as they most certainly know more than I do about everything there is to know about lasers, but I don't really care what they think about DragonLasers, I have faith in their product and their company. Their service, support and cooperation with me has been exceptional from the moment I ordered, and that gives me confidence in their product. If it turns out I'm wrong, then I'm wrong and I'll admit it readily. I want to give them a chance before I condemn them as scammers, liars, cheats, ripoffs, anything, good or bad.

I am kinda neutral when it comes to DL's. The only comment I can make is you will not know you are being ripped off unless you have a meter to measure the output. DL has been known to sell under performing lasers where as Nova, LaserGlow and Optotronics are true to their word. Anyway..good luck... :)

I'm buying a Kenom meter soon, but it probably won't arrive in time to test my laser, so I'm renting one from the local university. If I'm getting ripped off, then I'll use their return policy to send it back and have them exchange it for a new one.

No problem Amnizu. I say what I say as a warning only - DL tried to rip me off and wasn't too happy I didn't let them get away with it. I felt that was far more than just cause for a few rants about them.

Its your money and your decision though, and I'm really interested in knowing how these new lasers meter in.

I'm also very curious of a review with power readings on the Spartan :)
But anyway, as they're most likely watching this thread since they've started it and if they care about their rep here they're probably gonna send you a good unit no matter what.I'm not saying that they wouldn't do that anyway, all I'm saying is that if you get a crappy unit for $1200 it's most likely a mistake.

I have no experience with DL, the only negative thing I can say is that I don't like the way they're advertising the new units....

I'm really eager to write my review of it, and I really hope I can get it metered at the university or college nearby so I can have an output power for it. If I can't, I'll have to wait until Kenom's new meter arrives.

Everything must be taken into context and remember there are 2 sides to every coin. There are also "senior" members on this forum who have bought from Dragonlasers and are very happy with them.

Amnizu. I hope you get a great laser.

Ignore pseudo he's just an 18 year old geek with a grudge against Dragon lasers. Personally I will never look at him as senior as he's still a boy......

Carter Haines is a distributor of lasers so competition is something he don't like. If he can baffle kids with his science then you are sucked in to his pocket. As all he thinks about is making money from you kids here.......

/me says a plane could landing soon with him on it to take care of business.......

TL, I support Nova lasers and have sent many a potential customer their way because I knew they would offer a better deal than I could have - I prefer either happy customers or no customers at all. What I don't support are scammers. That's why I started selling my own stuff in the first place. I AM an 18 year old geek, and I do hold a grudge against DL. I never hold an unjustified grudge against anyone or anything though. I went all out on DL after they tried to scam me out of $600. Pretty good reasoning if you ask me, but if you don't like my "science", feel free to point out the mistakes in that impartial review I did.

Oh, and please e-mail ahead to let me know your flight number and itinerary so I can pick you up at the airport. I wouldn't want a good friend like you to have to waste money on a taxi. You'll be landing at DFW I assume?

I'm not gonna split hairs with you but I've fought in 3 wars Kosovo Sariavo & Iraq, so when my buttons get pushed I'm more than able to deal with spotty teenagers with more mouth than they can't back up!!

Carter I'll take this as a cryptic apology for now and I'm willing to put this behind us. Now can you please stop pushing my buttons in the future. Oh by the way I won't be using conventional public airplanes to visit anyone I still have permission to travel using military transport at anytime, so you won't be able to pick me up....
Now Spyro keep your nose out of things that don't that don't concern you please. Thank you....
