[I check the link you gave me, thanks for it! however, as a shopping center, we can't test them ourself. Just as Wal-Mart can't test all the products itself. But the factory have tested them to make sure they are in high quality. As you know we have more than 7000 kinds of products in our website, it is difficulty for us to do the test. What we are doing alway is to choose the best factory who have a good reputation in its field. For we can't do test ourselves, so we give our customers the best customer service to ensure their rights
Thanks for you suggestion!

As a dropshipper like PRICEANGELS, I would buy two or three different Laserpowermeter and randomly test some lasers. I´m SURE that most of the high powered ones (>100mW), those cheap Chinese factories produce, aren´t anything near up-to spec. After testing the lasers I would send the factory the testing results (with pics and vids) and will ask for a refund if they claim their lasers are higher powered than in fact they are.

BTW, why does the poll's percentages add up to 200 percent instead of 100?

Or rather, 213.333 percent

So here the poll is mainly trying to figure out the following:

Brand vs Quality
Price vs Brand vs Power

And "Price" + "Power" looks to = "Quality"

So when someone votes on either price or power it gives one vote to quality as well....

Also, style is 2X what Brand is....don't know what the correlation is there unless 1 person put style, and 1 person put brand and if you put brand maybe it counts 1 for style as well.....

So there seems to be a rhyme and reason but it seems ridiculously complicated and misleading....it would probably be better if you had the combined points listed below the results and not a part of the poll so that it could be read easier.....

Have you ever noticed that nobody in china has a Chinese name? John, Steve, Daniel, Susie.....Just another one of my observations. You guys are welcome :D

I vote for ALL options but brand and power.

Quality - Takes first priority. Laser is useless if it breaks right away.
Style - This is the second most improtant, nobody wants an "ugly" laser (like the kits i sell :D )
Price - This is also important. Must be low enough to afford. You've got to find the perfect balance between quality and price...
Brand - means nothing if the quality is not superior.
Power - not important because the "price" will be determined high or low based off the $1:mW ratio.

Other things?
FDA compliant?
LED indicators, shutters, delayed power-up

How about internal rechargeable battery? I'd love to just plug my laser into the wall like i do my cell phone (i'll put that in my DIY top-secret laser experiment to-do list)

Many foreign sales or support representatives (or even the company as a whole under a blanket name for all employees) will adopt an 'Americanized' name when dealing with western customers to blend in better. It is quite likely that the majority of those people you listed do indeed have a Chinese name ;) This is a very common practice in outsourced tech-support as well.

I have to agree with Moh, and also stress that LED indicators are one of my favorite things in a laser....i think it makes them look really slick

Thank you for your replies & coupons in pm!

This is good to hear. How would you proceed if I purchased a 200mW 532nm laser, test it with IR filter, conducting that it is (severely) underspec or having other defects and want a full refund?

Will I have to send the item back? If so; Will you pay for return shipment? Registered mail will cost around $20 back to China from Sweden. Unregistered/uninsured around $15.

If the lasers are actually good there would not be any problems. I am not saying that they aren't, actually I am really hoping that they are! But history serving from a lot of competing companies gives me an internal warning flag.

You seem really reasonable and forward in your posts. Which is a good start! :)

Indicatively, how much time can take, shipping an item to Italy ?

I'm asking cause our custom offices always delay anything 30 or more days, for shipments from east countries .....

As a dropshipper like PRICEANGELS, I would buy two or three different Laserpowermeter and randomly test some lasers. It's a 100% bar per option. You can vote for all options. If you like.

Thanks for all your support! Sorry for my delay, but the last three days are our most important festival in china--the mid-autumn day, I had a trip with my family.
Now, I will reply your questions.
1.the shipping will take some time, for it's free shipping. It is slow to some extend. It may take about 2 weeks.

2.You can do the test it yourself after receiving it, and if you give us and LPF the results,we would thank you. we believe the quality of our products, and of course we are sure you are honest.

3. If the laser turns out to be bad, you can return it. Then, you will get full refund and the shipping fee. But please make sure you have used the cheapest way to send it back. For the max shipping fee we can cover is no more than 60% of the product price. That means, if a laser is $20, the shipping fee we can cover is no more than $12.

4. Refer to the power of the laser, you can have a look at the two ones in differect descriptions :$36.00 True 100mW Green Laser Pointer Pen Black and $24.18 100mW Green Laser Pointer Pen (Black)
we can promise you the first one is 100mw, but the second one , may be just 90mw.

5. Thanks a million for your vote. As I promise, all friends who read the thread or vote can get discount, and I will send the coupon to the friends who want it.
6. Sorry for my delay!

Hey John. I'm just wondering why this link in your signature . . . .

IF you want to know about PA, click here!

. . . . Links to my signature file. What does my signature have to do with something called "PA"?:thinking::thinking:

Peace,
dave

It's not linking to your specific signature, Dave, this is one of the minor bugs of VBScript.

The link is a generic "h**p://laserpointerforums.com/profile.php?do=editsignature" (edited for not left it open), and the VBScript, when you open a "profile.php" script from inside a logged in account, automatically assumes that you are opening it from your profile manager, and so it open the profile manager of the user that have clicked on it from its own logged-in account.

This happens with anyone ..... i mean, if i click on it, the VBscript assumes that it's my own user profile, and opens my signature, and it's the same for any user that is correctly logged in.

Thank you. Having read Jerry's post before this one, I just looked to figure it out. I'll fix this part. We'll see how he responds to my post and PM about his signature
