Hi Guys,

I'm trying to purchase a $255 order from o-like for the following:

1 x High Power 100mW Green laser wand /Wide beam/focuasable
1 x New Arrival 405nm 300mW Violet laser torch /Focusable/Burning
1 x 635nm 5mW Red laser pointer / brighter than 650nm
2 x 405nm,450nm,473nm,532nm laser safety goggles
2 x High quality Belt Bag for Laser torch /easy to carry
2 x High quality Panasonnic protected 18650 Lithium rechargeable battery
1 x Laser aperture lens cleaner

I've been emailing back-and-forth to Susie for a few days now trying to make sure I make the best choice, I've been asking her questions and she has been very cooperative. I even got her direct Skype account and I've been chatting with her today. I told her I need the items posted urgently; and she pushed me to pay for it quickly (saying that the day after tomorrow is a public holiday - that's Saturday I think). I asked my final questions and finally settled the order. I also asked her to LPM the lasers (and she offered to send photos of the laser functioning on the LPM for me to see). She has assured me that they laser will either meet or be over the specs.

She told me NOT to pay using their website - but instead she would send me a PayPal invoice. I gave her my PayPal email address and had to leave for 30 minutes. I said I would come back.

Now I've come back and:

I have received the PayPal invoice - but I'm very concerned because the items are not listed on the invoice.

She has also left me this message:
*********
You should first pay then we can send you picture
I have sent paypal request to you ,Pls just pay ,don't leave message when you pay
after payment ,we can prepare products for you and send you testing photo before shipped out ,
*********
She has gone offline on Skype - and has now been offline for over 30 minutes. Its 2:45 PM there - so I don't expect it to be lunch time?

She also seemed to be pretty pushy to get me to pay quickly (although to be fair - that could be because I told her I was in a hurry to have them posted).

Should I be concerned? Has she taken my sale and turned it into a private one - and she is collecting my money to her personal PayPal account? Why are there no items listed on the PayPal invoice? Has anybody seen the "blueyeweb@gmail.com" account that I'm paying too? I'm very hesitant to proceed with this order. I can't go ahead until I get some peace of mind. So far Susie has been friendly - but I have worked for years in sales so I know that this could be anyone on the other side of the world....

ANY CLUES?

Is bleueyeweb the email of o-like?
if not some one else who had paypal to o-like could check .paypal is protected but a right pain to sort .
If youre in doubt keep your money .

Not at all, actually. Paypal will not take responsibility for someone elses' mistake. If it were a real scammer ( I don't know if this is the case, it looks fairly normal of a transaction) the money would be gone and paypal would not be able to take it back.

So,

I turns out after much talking with Susie that there is good reason for this payment method. Good reason for the account being paid to the random "blueyeweb@gmail.com" - and good reason that the products are not listed in detail on the PayPal receipt.

I'm not sure how much I can say on here - but she is just doing what she needs to do to get by.

I'm confident I will receive my order - o-like sent me a separate invoice with "Payment Received" after I made the PayPal payment - with all my items listed in full.

I have ordered with EMS and it is coming to Fiji so I expect it to take between 5-9 business days. Once I receive my items I will be doing a full review (hopefully with unboxing) on the two lasers, and also a company review on O-like.

See you guys then!

I've gone thru this process to use paypal with them and it worked out fine.

lazerer is the same way. you contact them and its through a lazerer email but when you get a PP request its from some random email. this is so pp cant trace what the products being sold are since it is against PP rules to sell lasers, this also explains why they say dont write anything when paying. if you even put the word laser on the PP payment, PP will shut both your accounts down.

This is because you are not allowed to pay for illegal lasers using pp, and rather than verify the legality of your purchase, they just look for anything laser related and block it.

Good idea to verify with Susie that the gmail address is correct, though :)

Hi Guys,

I guess being my first direct-purchase like this through PayPal (not eBay) - from China, with some of the reviews I read here I was quite concerned. After confirming with Susie - and reading your posts, I went ahead and purchased immediately.

I have asked an awful lot of Susie, many questions about the products - and insisting on an LPM, etc. Although there are some communication barriers (seeing that English is not her first language) - all in all, she has been very good.

I paid for the order a little over 24 hours ago, and today - she LPM'd both lasers - and posted them, along with all the extras (and originals). There are a few "shortcomings" - like she sent me the manual for the Power Rock instead of the Wide Beam - but WHATEVER - I'm getting decent quality (not rubbish) hardware at a great price. I wouldn't expect this to be top class service. Time will tell - and when I receive the items, I will be writing a full review on the delivery, packaging, company, and products.

What was really cool is that the photos she took using the LPM had the filename matching the date & time. She is clearly being honest here - and doing a great job. Also it's worth mentioning - she has a public holiday tomorrow so there was a heap of work today, she really rushed around madly to get my order shipped today (at no extra cost). Thanks Susie!

 Both lasers are OVERSPEC!

This sucks because I actually went directly to customs and asked them before I made this purchase, and they said "we don't have any regulations on lasers". Anyway - I called the local post office here in Fiji,

And they said: "The package is here, you can come and pick it up during the hours when a customs officer is present 8-9AM or 2-4PM".

I asked them: "Is there any problem? Do you need to ask me about the contents of the package or something?"

They said: "We randomly open packages sometimes to check and we want to open this one while you are present, to see the $25 flashlight."

I'm shaking in my boots a little..... but I did the right thing and I was honest from the start, even getting their permission - so I'm sure nothing bad can come of this. I have a suspicion that I will still get my lasers!

FINGERS CROSSED!

Oh man! I hope everything turns out alright. Just keep your cool, whenever i get nervous my face goes completely red :o

That's my big problem too! But I'll just focus on the fact that:

1) There are no regulations here in Fiji for lasers, so I am not breaking any laws.
2) I did the honest thing in the beginning and actually went to customs and asked them, and they said it was allowed.

I just don't want to see $250 go down the drain. :( I guess my hardest question to answer will be "What do you plan to use them for?"

My answer will be somewhat made up... I mean - I'm not an astrologist - but I will use it to star gaze. I'm not a lab-geek either, but I'll use it like a lab-geek would. I am also not a professional photographer - but I'll certainly be enjoying fiddling with the lasers and my DSLR.

Any ideas? What could I say when asked "Why do you need these lasers?"

Well it's not your fault that the seller labeled it a 25 dollar flashlight. As for a reason, just say it is your hobby and you enjoy it. Ask him how your hobby is different from model airplanes, rc cars, chess, computer games and every other hobby. You have hobbies because they are something you enjoy doing.
