O-Like or Lazerer?

I've been doing a bit of research on the forums about O-Like and from what I've read so far they sound like a very good website with pretty up to spec lasers, but this is only what I have read from other people's questions/answers on the forums. I need a bit of first-hand information, I need to hear it straight from someone not just read about it elsewhere. The main things I want to know are:

- Are the lasers actually up to spec? For example, if a laser is called a "200mW Green Laser" does it really have an output of 200mW? I don't mind if its 20-30mW under or over said output.

- How do you pay with them? I haven't tried placing an order yet because when I get to step 3 there isn't a Checkout with PayPal option and I have no idea how to pay on there website (if anyone can provide step-by-step instruction for me, that would be great!).

- How long do they last? Do they have a good lifespan?

- What is "Shipping to 0"?

- Can I buy compatible batteries on eBay?

I greatly appreciate any help that anyone can provide! I am a laser noob and I really want to find a reliable place to buy lasers at an affordable price. As I am in the UK its a bit difficult but all I need to do is work out the cost for me in GBP (however, if O-Like IS a good place to buy then this is no longer a problem thanks to their regional settings!)

Again, any help is highly appreciated, thanks :D

EDIT
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I've had a look and made an account with Lazerer and this site seems to cover all of my needs - "Checkout With PayPal", free shipping, guaranteed overspec e.t.c.

Re: Can anyone give me a low-down on buying with O-Like?

1. They are usually up to spec, or over spec.
2. I paid with Paypal... it should be there somewhere
3. Yes, o-like sells quality lasers
4. No idea.
5. Yes, Juice brand is good for CR2's and CR123A's Sanyo makes good 18650's I believe someone on the forums here is selling them.

Re: Can anyone give me a low-down on buying with O-Like?

Different opinion:

I have mixed emotions with respect to O-like.

I purchased three lasers from them. I had to return all three of them. Two were significantly underspec and one died a short while after it arrived. Plus two chargers they sent me also died short while after arrival.

So, as far as quality is concerned, O-like products are not of a good quality, IMHO. I would say medium quality and even less.

However, customer service is good.

They replaced all of the underspec lasers with good ones, no questions and refunded me for the dead laser. They also sent me replacement chargers for free.

But I had to pay for the return shipping. Shipping costs from my country to China are low (8$ registered airmail including the box), so it wasn't a big issue for me, but this is not necessarily the situation in other countries. Plus the big hassle involved with sending items back to Chine and praying they will get to O-like and the months it takes to receive the replacement.

Bottom line for me is that I won't buy from them again in the near future.

I'll be honest this is my first negative comment on O-Like, but then sometimes you just get seriously bad luck (in my case all the time...), so I suppose it wouldn't harm to do a bit of searching for other laser sellers. I'm contemplating the LZPL 200mW from LAZERER and I have personally asked an owner on the forums about one of these and the info I got sounded great! Well, seems like I should do some looking around again :p

My experience with Lazerer is good so far. I bought two lasers from him, both are overspec, fast shipping and he replies all emails promptly and to the matter.

O-like can be all over the place.

I got two identical 405nm lasers from them. One was WAY over-spec. One was somewhat under-spec.

I bought a really expensive 350nm green laser from them, and it was horribly under-spec. I made a big deal out of it, threatening a chargeback, bad reviews, etc..

Eventually "Suzie" acknowledged my return (at my high expense) of the under-spec laser, and they sent me a new one.

The new one that they sent me wads HUGELY over-spec.

So it's kind of a dice-roll. If you get lucky with what they ship, as I usually am, or you can play their system (Suzie) as I do, you can end up with great stuff.

It can be a process that takes time and attention, however.

For what it's worth, as the topic creator lives in the UK as well:

I've just ordered from Lazerer basically one of each RIFLE lasers:

1x RIFLE445 @ ~1000mw
1x RIFLE532 @ ~200mw
1x RIFLE650 @ ~200mw

Each with a LPM chart and Deluxe Upgrade Kit.
Max from Lazerer said the 445 and 650 should be well over spec while the green one should be slightly below (~10%?) the 200mw.

I'll let you know once they arrived.

For what it's worth... ordered from both companies on several occasions.

Lazerer always ships out FAST. The mail might be slow, but it's out the door fast.

At the same time idk what o-like is doing... placed an order on the first, and nine days later it still shows as "processing".

So my vote is for lazerer... faster shipping and he'll LPM you laser for a very small fee... BIG plus.

Ordered a 200mW from Lazerer two days ago, still on processing, but I'll send an e-mail and I'm certain there wont be a problem - its not a problem at the moment anyway! Thanks for the help and I can't wait for my Laser :)

I have never ordered from Lazerer.

With O-Like I ordered a random assortment of a lot of the products on their site. the order wasnt even shipped till about 3 weeks later. finally when I received it I discovered that one of the items was not in the order.
After another 3-6? weeks of 3 or 4 emails of stuff like: "I still have not found them" / "Look Harder" / "I have looked harder".....I had searched high and low.

I had to change my tone with them, stating that I have no time in life to be playing games with them and it is positive that the item is not here - and demanded that they send the missing item NOW.
This was my first time I had ordered anything from them. Would I goto them again?, yes, things happen, there were a lot of items I had ordered and they had an error, it happens!

One thing that raised a flag with that order was that a ten pack of 12mm Axiz modules was all taken apart, springs here, some inside the tube complete, some tubes not screwed together, everthing random (A Bag of Disorderly parts) and NO lenses which added a lot of wasted time till resolved.

Have any of you found your ten packs of modules to be a mess like that?

Lazerer. I'm confused as to how you order from O-Like, I heard you have to use paypal transfer which can be complicated and lengthy so I went with Lazerer :) I hear a lot of positive things about both websites, and as they allow you to select your currency (UK for me) and also sell for good prices, they are the easiest to go with (for me) :)

^^^I think he meant LaserCo's post... it's not clear who he's talking about.

Two days IMO is not an issue... but more than a week... send Max an email, he usually replies pretty fast, and he is also on google chat from time to time.

Edit: Got beaten to it:p

LaserCo is referring to O-like.

"One thing that raised a flag with that order was that a ten pack of olike 12mm axiz modules was all taken apart, springs here, some inside the tube complete, some tubes not screwed together, everthing random and NO lenses (the item(s) not received)"
