O-like: good and bad....

I purchased 2 lasers from O-like a couple months ago. First the 400 mW green, which has turned out to be a nice laser, works good and great craftmanship.

Secondly I bought the 1 W blue. This laser worked right out of the box, but after playing with it for 20-30 minutes, the end cap switch apparently went defective and will no longer turn the laser on. There is also no "clicking" noise associated with these types of switches.

I contacted Susie about the switch issue and asked her to send me another end-cap switch for the laser, to which she replied "sure". After a few weeks, still no switch in the mail.
Again I emailed her a second and third time and have had no reply from her.
Is this too much to ask from Susie?

Can you take a picture of the tailcap ? Most switches are generic and are easily replaceable by the user. I have a small bag of switches, maybe one will fit the cap.

That's very cool of blord to offer you a clicker switch.
You will probably do better fixing I yourself rather than waiting on o-like to send you one.
They don't have very good customer service!

Busted Laser from o-like

Hey so I just joined the forum, been reading a lot on here though before finally purchasing my 445nm Power Rock 1W laser from o-like. However, the laser I received is incredibly weak and honestly it was borderline embarrassing to power the thing up (full battery of course) for the first time in front of all these people that I stated it would blow their mind to. I don't know if it's the diode or battery or what but I was hoping maybe someone could assist me in figuring it out, even if it's a simple bit of common knowledge, I just want to put it to rest.

Susie did say she'll send out a replacement diode (whoopie-doo, two more weeks of waiting - and still no tracking number after 5 days...). I wouldn't really recommend buying from there. It's a hit n miss with them it seems.

So anyway here are the photos of the diode, I tried removing it but have no idea how to, it doesn't seem to want to twist out...

The only thing I question is that little tiny metal piece somewhat blocking the lens. Is that supposed to be there?

^[Edit] Yea, after looking around, seems like that's pretty normal, lol...^

Sorry to hear about your laser. I had a similar experience with no-like.
They sent me one that did not work, and I waited fro a replacement module. Finally got it and the thing only worked for five days.
Now they wont answer my emails. They suck!!!!!

Good luck with your dealing with them.
If younpaid with a credit card or paypal you can do a dispute and get your moony back before the dispute period is expired.

I did not , and now I'm screwed!

ehhhh... bummer. Well how long ago was that that this happened to you? I've only had mine for about 5 days so I've already requested a refund.

It was about two months ago. They took so long to finally agree to, and send me a replacement module, that buy the time I got it and it quit five days later . That it was too late for me to do a dispute with paypal.

So get yours fixed or replaced soon as possible , that way if it craps out on you again like mine did, you still have time to get your money back.

They will screw you out of it if they possibly can.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. Yea I contacted Susie last night and she's gotten back to me with an address so I think she's doing her best to do good by me, although I can kinda tell she's not too happy bout it - or perhaps she's just a woman of few words.

Thanks for the replies!

Btw, can I just say, that is a brilliant macro (is that what you call it in USA?) shot!

Moultrup,
Just wondering if you have gotten your refund from No- like
Or are they giving you the run around? And avoiding you, like they did me.

I can now fully attest that O-like is truly a grab bag. I got a 50mW 532nm power rock from them, and it works great right out of the package. I'm going to do a full review within the next few days.

My opinion on Chinese company issues is simply to dispute and get a refund and re-order the parts needed to fix it or just get a different laser from a different company. Good luck with getting a refund from o-like, sadly I doubt you will get one unless you can win the dispute.

There are a lot of Chinese guys here everyday and if there is any difficulty getting one of China-based online laser shop in touch or hearing no response when the like issue happens, just let a Chinese member in lpf make a phonecall to them, so as to make things clear and get the problem resolved. Some shop owners might be oblivious or pretending to be so when bad happens. It might be more efficient. :)

I actually bought a laser from O-like two months and somehow my zip code was put wrongly on the package yet its correct in my account on their system. The laser made it all the way to my city and then was shipped back because of the zipcode mismatch. Two months later and about a half dozen emails later Susie asks me to pay the shipping to send it again. At this point I think I'm just going to ask her about a refund and maybe eat the shipping cost. I hear too much in general about their lasers being such a hit or miss that I am not very into that risk and sitting here for another two months waiting for a fix to the laser.

Hey sorry, didn't see all these replies way back when. I did not get a refund from Susie, I just went through my bank and filed a complaint through there.
