NOVAlasers' future products

Several months ago, I wrote to NOVAlasers about possible future products:

Dear NOVAlasers Staff:

I really like your products. For one, they got much better prices and specs. For example, your blue 20+ mW laser only costs $1000, while [O]ptotronics' only blue laser, which costs the same, has only a guaranteed 10+ mW output. Your 20 mW blue laser has better specs than Wicked's blue Spyders (smaller beam diameter and TEM00 instead of TEM03) and only half the original price. Even the NOVA350 has better specs than Wicked's green Spyders (except for near-TEM00 instead of TEM00) and lower price. NOVA lasers might become more popular if they had more wavelengths, such as IR, [yellow] (589 nm), and red (635 and 650 nm). Also, more optics, such as double- in addition to plano- lenses might get better business. Also, selling lab lasers shouldn't hurt either! Just a thought! :)

The folks at NOVA told me that future products were likely.

Thank-you very much for taking the time to write us your kind words, encouragement
and product suggestions.

We pride ourselves on being not only competitively priced in the marketplace but
also offering great customer service.

We currently have several projects on the go, including expanding our product
selection. Keep a look out on our website for many more products in the future,
including laser modules.

If you have any more suggestions, I hope you won't hesitate to contact us again!

Best Regards.

Sales Director

What do you think they're planning? Do you think they'll sell 500 mW lasers like LaserGlow?

Well, not to discredit NOVA, but that sound a lot like a standard-"speaking-without-talking"-letters.

At least I can't extract any information out of it.

To their credit, Nova has followed through nicely with everything they have stated thus far - so it is just a game of wait and see now :) Any speculations on products, folks ?

Talking completely out my BUTT here...Complete speculation but my guesses would be

An expansion into Reds.

An expansion of their Blue Products.

Maybe Yellows and Orange.

I think that would round out their product Line Quite nicely!

Yea, I'm pretty pumped too. I bet they might move into selling components to build your own lasers actually. Like, empty laser bodies, or pre-made driver circuits, stuff like that. It would be brilliant if they could do it at a low price, I mean, just look at all of the DIY'ers on here!

Any-who, I'm anxiously awaiting the official word!
