X25 Compact Portable Laser

Price USD99.00

Is it any good? I mean does is it really at 25 mW. Sorry I am a complete laser noob. Also what about customer service, quality IR damage (or whatever) and what not. I would buy from sky lasers but the website doesn't work.

It's good, but soon you'll want more power. ;D

Get the x100 when it's back in stock.

1-It's guarenteed to put out at least 25. You'll probably get even more.
2-Nova typically has good customer service.
3-They sell quality/tested CNI units.
4-It has an IR filter. Don't worry about it.

Ok that is great! I am in Canada if that is an issue. Also I am pretty poor so can't afford much. Maybe save my allowance up lol. BTW Coherent AWESOME roflcopter video. I don't think 100 mW will be safe enough I mean I got little bros. Also I heard about goggles to protect your eyes. Discuss please.

Novalasers is located in Canada so shipping shouldn't be a problem. You can get goggles to protect your eyes from lasers while burning or playing with optics. They are definitely recommended if you are getting something that puts out >100mw since you'll want to burn stuff with it. If you are just going to get an X-25 or something then you should be fine without them. Just be careful using it and watch out for reflections.

Reflections? As in mirrors? Also, can a X-25 burn paper, light matches. You know, the fun stuff. NVM I just found out that skylasers is up and are selling a 40 mW laser for $99.99-10%=$89! I am thinking of buying there as I am getting a powerfuler (is that even a word?) laser for the same money.

By reflections I mean be careful around shiny objects at home or outside.
In order to actually burn stuff you need around 30mw and a magnifying glass to focus the beam on the target. If you want to burn stuff without focusing the beam then you'll need 100+ mw.

If you want the best quality then buy nova. Skylasers has cheaper lasers, but they'll probably break after a while or have problems. Also the CNI lasers that nova sells look better then the crappy newwish pointers.

Or You can get the x-75. I love mine, several months use, still works great. Never given my any problem. Costumer service is exceptional, shipping is quick. You can't go wrong with any of the x series. My x-75 peaks at 94mW, and can easily burn up to 5' away, and will burn at 10' only not as fast. You want a blu ray for burning white paper, unless you go in the 300+ mW. But I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the x-75. You should get a RPL if your seriously looking for power! ;)

As for these being biased replies... I'd say a lot of the people here are biased in favor of Nova. This bias comes from ownership, experience, and independent testing of Nova products. I have purchased accessories from them and had a great, easy transaction. Now, I am saving for a Nova Alpha 65... I can't wait!

What do you think about the Alpha series? I was thinking about buying myself one of these for Christmas this year. Any reviews anyone could link me with of a Nova Alpha 65 - 105?

i have the alpha 105 and it does 140mW ;D feels good in the hand and can run for a good period of time. the AA batteries last about 5 hours of use. the case is quite nice and the shutter keeps the lens clean. the beam is very visible in the day in my room and...yea...good laser ;D ;D ;D

Laserglow is good too. Both Nova and LG are the best laser companies IMO.
