I don't think they're going anywhere - be glad you got the Rigel while it's on sale, afaik it doesn't happen often. (20% off is a LOT!). It's a main part of why I got mine when I did.

I wish I knew they were on sale too.... Chances are the price on these won't go up. The seller had a "vibe" unlike the other laser companies, I actually got an intelligent response to everything. I'll let you know if the prices go up, chances are I'll get an LPM, meter it and sell it for an actual advertised power rather than ">80mW", and hopefully buy and sell more. It's still a hit or miss though, I couldn't find anybody else who bought one.

They appear to be in the 665% price increase range there. I think I'll stick with buying direct lol

Well the 532 doesn't load, nor does the toolbar in either firefox, chrome or IE for me.
The 473 loaded, price: $2394

In China they don´t pay with USD, more with YUAN

1¥ = 0.16$

Do your maths now ;)

Also I already calculated in the post above. Next time read more precisely.

Don't.

Just flat up don't.

When people have insisted on that, I've often said I'll cover the 3% paypal fees by adding it to my total, but I won't send payment as a gift.

^Why not out of curiosity? Does it present issues with paypal disputes?

Yeah if you send somebody money as a gift on PayPal you can't dispute it if they don't send you your product! Your sending them a gift so Paypal doesn't think you we're making a purchase. They don't have to send you shit they could just say thanks for the gift!

Gotcha, and that makes sense.. In all fairness I'd like to mention that I would be EXTREMELY surprised to hear of Lasever not shipping. Given that they have really bent over backwards for me when I've bought from them they are without a doubt one of the few Chinese companies I trust entirely. The level of customer service I've experienced from David and company has been well above what I've experienced from most American companies.

That said, this listing was found through Alibaba. You don't *really* know that it's Lasever you're dealing with. Anyone could pop a listing up on XYZ-Auction-Site claiming to be Lasever, have payments sent as gifts, and then disappear.

The question I would be asking, is why does a serious laser reseller need to have payments sent as a gift? There are two reasons:

1) They don't want to pay Paypal fees.
2) They don't want you to have any recourse against them for ANY reason.

So, offer to cover the fees, and you'll quickly have the answer as to which of the two motivations is behind it.

It's definitely option 1 in Lasever's case. David told me that right off the bat.. that didn't really bother me though as I have no love for Paypal. Lasever has been around for awhile, and while in the beginning their lasers had a little room for improvement, ripping people off and not honoring warranties isn't a common complaint. They did right by me all the way.. it's rare that I'm so vocal about a company, but David and Lasever won me over and worked hard to do it. You almost never see that these days. No complaints from me about their show modules, but I don't have any of their handheld stuff so I can't speak for that.

I definitely can't stress enough that I recommend dealing with Lasever directly.

Um, i guess this is what happens when leave this thread alone for a bit.

I bought using the paypal advertised on their site, and the one David (or possibly another sales rep) had given me. According to the e-mails I've sent back and forth my laser is shipped. I plan on asking for a tracking number ASAP, I'll let you guys know if I get one.

As for the alibaba comments, I don't trust that place one bit. Simple enough. But I do trust a website much more that is "lasever.com", with (maybe 6) videos on their youtube channel, lasever, of some of their lasers.

Elektro is also good support, as he has dealt with David before. David actually gives inquiries an "intelligent" response rather than a response some underpaid worker is supposed to say/ask.

PS: You CAN dispute "gifts" over paypal.
