Hello, every friends, new and old, thanks for your reading of this thread.

These days I am troubled by some problems, but can't find a perfect soluton.

As you know, there are some complaints against priceangels these days in LPF, I am really sorry for the bad experience you get from my company. I am always trying my best to be as honest as I can, but there is still a long way to go before get all your suport.

Some days ago, my worker receive a laser which is claimed to be DOA by my customer, but after send it to the factory, the fact is the module has been changed. (this kind of things always happen)

I don't want to give trouble to my customers only because some other members' behavior, and I don't want to be cheat any more.
Could you give me some suggestion to improve customer service, and at the same time avoid the loss of some unhonest member who are mean to cheat?

John is here waiting to listen to you.....

Thanks all

Re: Need your suggestions (Priceangels' ower john)

Biggest thing I can suggest is offer quality products. Right now you have 121 green lasers listed on your site. Who knows what your going to get (quality wise) and it makes testing all of those is hard. I would cut the total number down to lets say 30 - 40 that you know are a good product that you have tested.

John, you could test the lasers as soon they go out of your stock: all people here want quality products. I didn't received my laser yet, but I want it with 50mW as stated on your site!
Maybe you can try to give a descount coupon for lasers for a reputable member, so he can quality check any of your lasers upon buying.
I didn't received any laser yet, but I think you should tighen the bubble bags on the lasers :)

Thanks, my workers are always trying to do so, and more and more quality lasers will be available in my website.

Hello John,
so far you are doing a great job IMHO, and if I were you I wouldn't be too worried
about someone complaining and wanting refund for a frickin' 10$ laser... ;)

But you should, as you already know, get an IR filter to acurately measure
the more powerful green lasers.

If you are really really totally unable to get one yourself, PM me your address, and I
will try to have one shipped to you. Seriously.
You can thank me later (*cough* coupon *cough*). :D

I agree with what has been said up there, you have WAY TOO MANY lasers listed.

You'd need to unlist all those unpopular ones, only keep best sellers, and ones which are rare and very high quality. Out of those 121 lasers, 60 or so are "50mW greens" , and half of those are 50mW pens. That's waay too much green 50mW pens.

Keep only the ones which are highest quality, throw the rest out.

You'd have much more control over your stock and testing lasers would be much easier for you.

"the fact is the module has been changed"

with that you mean the customer has been messing with the pot of the driver?
a blob of glue on the pot would help i gues, if that is in your power.
also as some others said, test before shipping so you can guarante that it wont be doa

These days, we have delete some of lasers at my website. Do you think IR filter will give a solution to such problems?

IR filter is useful in terermining output of suspicius looking lasers, but only if it's high quality filter.

You don't want one that will take 10% of green with it too.

It would be best if you took measurement both with IR filter and with glasses against green laser. Two measurements should add up and be equal to measurement without anything in front of the laser and sensor.

That will give the best representation of real laser power - however I know it's a very time consuming process. You should reserve that measurement only for LPF members upon request, but provide IR filtered measurements for all lasers.

There is an easy way to determine if a laser module has been replaced inside a laser and returned to you:
If you place a (QC) or (tested) sticker on the side of the laser (where the end-cap screws onto the laser host, you would be able to tell if someone opened the laser. If you make sure the sticker is in the correct place (both on the laser host and on the cap) so would be evident if someone opened the laser and replaced the module. Better yet: use "warranty void if removed" stickers, and if the lasers come back without the sticker, you know they have been tampered with. :eg:

IMHO anyone Who is caught doing that should be BLACK LISTED on LPF.

Just My 0.02

I agree.

John you need to put a disclaimer text in plain view on your web site that says "modifying lasers will void warranty". Then when you get a laser that has been tampered with, you can tell the buyer your not going to fix/replace the laser because it was tampered with, and make them pay to ship it back to them.

Yes, we will ask for shipping fee to send the laser back if we find the laser or a part of the laser is not ours. If they refuse to give us the fee, we will not send it back to him.

BTW, I don't understand the way Eudaimonium told me, do you mean "the output with IR filter+ the output with a mirror= the directly tested output"?
why?
sorry....:undecided:

Oh, well, for example you have a 100mW output laser (measured exactly 100mW).
Now, let's say that you take infrared filter, and measure output through it = 60 mW.

So we can assume it's aproximately 40mW of IR.

However, you must know that IR filter will also throw off some green light too, so just in case, you grab laser protection goggles which block green light.
Now through them you can also measure Infrared light without green.

And let's say that you do not measure 40, but 30mW of IR. So you have 10mW of error in previous measurement which might be 10mW of green light betting reflected from the filter.

That way you can provide much more accurate measurement of actual green/infrared light.

10mW of green might not sound like much right in this example, but in 350mW laser like the $200 model you have, it turns into quite significant number.

I hope you understand now what I am trying to say :)
