Wicked Lasers earned a terrible reputation when they released the Arctic. They did so by marketing their product like The
Sharper Image, mishandling customer service like a scummy New York camera shop, and building/delivering their Arctic more
slowly than Boeing b/d's a 787 Dreamliner. I would know. I ordered mine 6/10/2010 and it never shipped. It took two months
to get a refund.
They had not introduced a new product since the Krypton, which was seven or eight months ago. I assumed demand has
greatly diminished since then. I decided now would be a good time to give Wicked Lasers another try.
New Experience
FRI, April 13 at 2:00 PM - Ordered the Arctic S3 (<1W).
WED, April 18 at 11:17 AM - Wrote customer service asking for a discount since I found an Arctic S3 in the US for $50 less.
WED, April 18 at 12:37 PM - Customer service notified me my laser already shipped, but offered to return $25.
MON, April 23 - My package leaves customs and reaches its first Post Office.
WED, April 25 - My package is delivered.
Total delivery time: 12 days / 10 business days
Not a bad deal. I paid a big premium for a Wicked Laser. It's worth it to me for two reasons:
1) I like the variety of modes, specifically low power, high power, and SOS.
2) I really needed the "smartswitch." I cannot guarantee the laser's security in my dorm. I'm worried some punk could
take it and do a lot of very serious damage. (I'm by far the oldest person living in a dorm, at 25.)
Now that I have the laser, I know what everyone was talking about when they complimented Wicked Lasers' hosts. This
chassis feels like it's made by Surefire. The exterior has fantastic quality.
I hope I can get this Arctic LPM'd some day soon. It's much brighter than my 125 mW / 532 nm Wicked Laser E3. I can see
the Arctic's beam in my dorm room when it's filled with sunlight. (Granted, we don't have an air purifier.)
I also picked up a pair of these protective glasses:

They're quite different from the ones included with my Arctic. They block a different (wider?) spectrum of light. I'll take pictures
of the pair included with my Arctic for comparison.
