Let me say that I've bought a number of Wicked lasers a few years back, and never had any significant problems with them. I'm getting back into lasers, and back around Christmas, ordered a couple when they were running the sale back then.
I contacted Steve directly, and ordered a Photonic Disruptor Pro (on clearance) and a Spyder III 5mW. Yes, FIVE milliwatts. It was only about $120, and I thought it would be cool to have this monster host with a "safe" pointer-power laser in it.
Anyway, they shipped to me in early Feb. Because I was out of town, I didn't end up getting to UPS until late Feb. I opened the package and...there was just the PD Pro. I emailed Steve, and he said that there was a manufacturing delay, and that the laser would be shipping in a few weeks.
Well, things got VERY busy at work after that, and I basically forgot about the thing (I wasn't even home between the beginning of April and Mid-May. Anyway, a few weeks ago, I emailed Steve, wondering if the laser had shipped. He responded that it had shipped in Feb and I'd signed for it. When I got home last week, I pulled up the old email exchange we'd had in Feb and sent it off to him, reminding him that they never sent the Spyder III.
The next day, I got an email from John Mannifeld in Wicked's marketing department. He explained that they'd cancelled the 5mW Spyder III (probably because it's a silly concept) and refunded everyone's money. Since I'd been dealing directly with Steve, I had fallen through the cracks. To make it up to me, they were sending me a new Spyder III.
A 200 mW Spyder III.
I got it today. According to the power graph they supplied, it's more like a 225-250 mW. I charged the batteries, put on the goggles, and played around with it for a few minutes tonight. The thing scares the HECK out of me!
But I wanted to thank Wicked for going above and beyond to make things right for a customer!
