My laser: HL 405,445,450nm (1 watt)

First off, I'd like to say that the laser performs at about 600mW :wtf:
the heatsink is not good for a 1 watt, but is fine for this power.
duty cycle is apropriate and correct.
lens is plastic, and unreachable, making it hard to clean.
the product has lasted half a year now, and hopefully longer.
the divergence is horible, any more than 50 feet and it's more like a flashlight.
wavelength is on point.
Has great safety precautions, making it a nice beginner laser.
shipping is slow, but that's to be expected in china.

other notes:
it is of slightly higher quality than other chinese lasers I've ordered. glue is only used to hold the driver in place. some part IDs are scratched out. :undecided:
great price ($80 US ) for a noobie laser

Weird, if you bought the 445 then it should peak around 1w or more not just 600mW, are you using fresh charged batteries ? if not i would email them and ask about that surely dont sound right judging from all group breaks here with them more or less everybody have got overspec lasers. And u dont need to clean it really the lens cover is there for a reason.

But i agree tho the host is a bit weak for 1w lasers, you should have bought the PL series instead much bigger and better for high power.

When i received it, the lens was dirty enough to the point to where it was visible with the naked eye. Perhaps that's where my faulty measurments came in.

so why didnt you contact them about it? i would never accept a new laser to have dirty lens..

Because i didn't want to wait 2 more months for a ne laser when i can clean a lens myself

I'm curious - how did you measure the power? Do you have an LPM?

I had difraction gratings. My friend brought his 445 arsenal over and we compared the brightness through the gratings. It was most similar to his 500mW, but brighter. With a few guesses we went with 600, as it was just barely brighter, and not as bright as the 750

Without an LPM measurement no output claims can be made or visually guessed with any accuracy.

I find it hard their 1w laser would peak only around 600mW that doesnt sound right for a diode laser, unless you have a LPM to measure it u should know that difference in brightness and burning between 500mW-1W isnt that big really... And the human eye is very bad to judge laser powers so forget doing that.'

I would still mail them and ask about your laser, i think they check all lasers before they ship out them it cant hurt and see what they say about it ?

Check if the sticker is blocking the beam a little?
