I just bought a 5mW 405nm laser on ebay from Motel268. I bet you can't guess what I paid :D

$2.95 shipped!

But guess what else, thats a buy it now price!

I have no idea how that is even possible, how could you make anything on a laser like this. Shipping would cost more than that! The guy has 12k good feedbacks and most for this laser are good. I figured what the hell, I could scrape up this much change on the ground at a drive thru window.

Has anyone else bought one of these? I know 5mW lasers are not in high demand, but its only 3 bucks. If nobody has one yet I'll post a review when it comes.

I'm wondering if the boost converter inside is potent for some "modifications" :D
Too bad it's plain old crap New Wish style host.

If it would be any other host , even I would buy it.
And I don't buy lasers. I make them.

I guess you can't have a nice host for $3 shipped.
Hell, if I didn't know better, I'd say "I guess you cannot have a bluray for $3 shipped"

I have no idea how does he do that, but I'm glad he does.

He must be purchasing like, 10k units at a time from the supplier or something.
And must have some connections at post office.
 
I'll probably keep you informed of the modability of the driver, I'm guessing its a pretty low current boost driver probably not much good for any serious milliamps.

Schotty and capacitors might be salvageable, or perhaps replacing the coil with bigger one would make it able to produce higher current (with proper resistor change OFC).

No boost driver is bad driver. At least it can be used as a bad example if nothing else :crackup:

That is pure BS....

They made a mistake on the Listing by offering FREE Shipping and
didn't catch their mistake before 100 Lasers were sold...

I asked how much for shipping for 10 pc yesterday and they replied
this morning
that I need to pay separate shipping foe each one. Obviously they
had not seen therr error yet.

It is their problem not yours... if they don't send the Lasers they
deserve 100 Negative
Feedbacks from all the eBay members that ordered one.....

I would be contacting eBay Reporting a Fraudulent Seller...

I call BS as well, especially the "hacked" part. I'm going to wait before I contact the seller, 2.95 is worth seeing how this unfolds.
 
same here-ordered 8 yesterday and got the automatic reply thanking me for the order- i expect the 'so sorry' note soon--I don't believe the hacking claim- a free shipping listing is on there atm. if they got hacked you would think the other same listings would have been pulled asap.......................EDIT just looked and there are no free shipping listings for BRs atm.

I asked motel about purchasing 20 green pointers and got a reply today it was $120.
The pointers were the ones priced 99cents.
I was wondering about the bundling price.
I haven't got a invalid after shipped notice yet.

I might buy 50x of these and sell them at 5$ each at work. People would eat em up.

Lmk how your laser goes. Im going to contact him and see hoe many he has and for how much.
 
I ordered 4 separate times with a total of 5 lasers. He's getting negative feedback for all of them.

You would be losing a dollar on each one!! 20 @ 120$=6$ each --true?
