Hey guys, I received a PM from JRCARRERAS this morning regarding a 5% discount code for the RTDVAPOR site.

With his permision, here is a copy of his PM to me.

Thank you for contacting us. I am glad you are happy with our service. We appreciate your business and choosing RTD for your batteries. I just checked out your laser pointer forum and it is very nice. From my quick browsing it seems like it is a popular spot for laser enthusiasts. Thank you for mentioning our business on there.

I have created a coupon code for your forum, for you to share with your members there. It is Laser5 . This coupon code will take 5% off your order. I would post it in the forum but I know most forums frown upon business's making posts like that."

Can I post this? If yes, I would prefer for you to post it since you are known more than me in this forum .Thank you."

:thanks: JRCARRERAS for sharing this with us!

The Ebay stuff is sellers I've just used before that have legit cells such as this place where I just got my (4) Panasonic 18650pf (I choose higher amp draw capacity over just a bit more with their b or whatever they are now cells):
2 Genuine Panasonic NCR18650PF 18650 2900mAh 3 7V IMR Flat Top Li ion Battery | eBay

If you look at my sig you will see I already own a bunch of Nitecore chargers. What bugs me about the D ones is they will fully charge to 4.16V and not 4.2V. All 4 slots of both of them charge to that exact 4.16. I know this because I have tested over and over with expensive Fluke meters and they all give the same reading. I would trust my Flukes over any charger out there no questions asked. I have no idea if the I ones do the same thing or not as I only use those if I have a lot to charge.
I believe the latest Opus is the 3400 version 2.2 and that's the one that can cycle your batteries. I think the Xtar one is the VC4. I dont think the Xtar can cycle a battery so it's the 3400 2.2 I want. Problem is where to buy that actually has the 2.2V.
Dangit BTG, I already ordered:)

EDIT: Just ordered the Opus 3400 2.2 from Amazon as I had discover card awards so it only cost me just over $16:) Hey, I have always paid all my credit card bills in full before they are due so it's nice making a few bucks off them to spend on things like this. In fact, my credit rating is 840/850 proving you don't have to have a lot of $ to get a high score just never be late on anything and always pay the balance. Usually make a few hundred a year on them and they can't dump me;) Haven't worked since April 17th 2014 and just getting by on Workers Comp still.
Do yourself a favor and try very hard to never owe anyone anything if you can. Still owe about 40G on my house but I'm whittling away at it. My wife just got a job as a school bus driver. Training will start in a few weeks but all the written test stuff is done and she has her license. At least it pays $4/hr more than the $9 she gets at a coffee shop plus better hours and lots of time off. I adore her. May be too much info. but I don't care.

Edit:
The Opus that I had ordered on Friday was actually delivered on Sunday (surprise to me). Absolutely love it. Its abilities cover the things my Nitecore units cant do. The Nitecores are not going anywhere as they also can charge batteries that the Opus can't and I have a lot of different kinds. I was edgy about whether I would actually get the V2.2 but no worries. I've had it on discharge refresh for some cells that came from laptop pulls since I got it. Going to be doing the quick tests that check the internal resistance on my cells too once I'm done with the discharge refresh stuff. So, I highly recommend adding this charger to whatever else you already have for the abilities that your other charger cant do. Yes, its a bit pricey but so are lasers and bateries;)
I think I'm going to report some of the things I've noticed between the different chargers in another thread such as the final voltage that they charge to after I gather a bit more information. For instance, I tested one of the older Nitecore I units and it chargers to almost 4.22 while the D charges to 4.167V if I remember correctly.

There is also RMM at Mountain Electronics.

I'd consider him the DTR of the flashaholic community. He stocks almost every battery you would ever want and he is US based.

He's my go to guy for batteries and chargers and everything in between :)

I can second this. I have ordered from him many times before and he truly is the DTR of DIY flashlights and batteries. I actually just complete my first DIY flashlight build today with parts from him and it made things very easy plus the convoy hosts he sells are extremely nice for the price.

Overall great place to go for high end batteries and DIY flashlight mods. Also very quick shipping and lucky for me most items ship from Renton Wa which is only one city away. Every now and then an order ships from somewhere in Utah but still always quick to ship. Anyone looking to replace lighthound who hasn't checked out his site definitely should give it a look. He seems to get all the latest and greatest batteries quicker than most and is a very trusted supplier.

The site only says that it is "currently unavailable." Do you have any other information to suggest that it has closed for good?

I would say it is for good. CPF, and maybe even BLF, is a good place to really keep up with flashlight and flashlight accessory vendors.

RIP Lighthound.

The original message on their site said that they were closed, and not just "currently unavailable" as the message now states.

hakzaw stated (post #7) that their main store had closed "about a month ago", and that was on 8/19, so that would be mid july, they're still closed, unfortunately I have to assume they're closed for good.
